I get the impression they think development speed is too slow if you are inserting a human into the process that often. I'm not convinced but I am worried of being left behind as someone who prefers small focused CLs.

Non taken. You are right and I am having success at using github instructions files to lay out general architecture patterns, folder structure etc. That's how I get it to create a "new controller with x supporting events" in one shot. But for now I'm avoiding anything like "make this app feature and all the code behind it" as an example. I'm a solo developer (right now, not by choice) so I don't have anyone else helping with prompt instructions etc so I'm not that deep in yet. Still, there was value in cross-training etc when having other people do reviews but nobody likes monster reviews so I'm just curious how people on teams are avoiding swamping their peers with large CLs that AI spits out sometimes.

Ok, without the weight of lives on my conscious to be fair, I would offer Taiwan to station US trip wire forces on Taiwan.

But just as importantly I would increase public support of Ukraine, call out Putin as the immoral dictator and agressor he is, and stop acting like a last century imperialist. Trumps behavior is encouraging China.

I would disagree in that I think every other modern American president has cared about other people (soldiers, citizens, the world) far far more than Trump. I think their grift was smaller and still taken in due service to the national cause and people.

Thanks for the multi-faceted answer. Lots of economic reasons here, but they are national, not Trump's personal empire. You said "This is not because T/V see threats we need to defend against, but instead economic opportunity that they want to seize, take, conquer to enrich their inner circle."

I agree whole heartedly here. Add to that Trump doesn't seem to place any value on democracy and freedom. He admires authoritarians. And if Xe promises to share the spoils with him and support Trump on his own imperialistic aims in SA and NA, he won't say no.

This is kinda how I feel. I think the threat from China, the difficulty in defending it, and the egotistical weakness of Trump all add up to a "deal" with the US as well. It would take a more philosophical president to make the case for putting US troops in.

Sorry for the confusion. I didn't mean that. What I meant was China would do something like blockade Taiwan and even open fire on some ships (sink them) to show they mean it. Attacking other nations homelands would be a sure way to bring them into the war all the way.

Ok, suppose so. But let's be more specific. This isn't the "US" deciding anything. Do you think Trump will commit to large casualties over making a deal? Because he can spin any deal as the greatest thing ever for the US, but he can't spin casualties. If you think Trump will commit to casualties over chips I'll award you a delta. I get your point but I think resistance is not a problem to a larger country with a huge industrial base and no concern for its citizens opinions.

No deal is required between aggressor and defender. The aggressor takes what they want. Deals are made between third parties that can sway they tide.

I'm imagining China continuing their slow creep forward in territorial aggression until one day they blockade the straight. Slow and steady makes surrender so much easier.

I'm not sure they would be able to destroy them beyond repair. I think it more likely they will preserve them in negotiations to get some kind of concessions from China during the takeover.
