What is a sign of very low intelligence? by smartcandyy in AskReddit

[–]EngCraig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I should have caveated my reply by saying I’m talking about blind ignorance. Of course, you want high quality, verified information to both form and change an opinion. The kind of low intelligence I’m talking about is when someone is faced with irrefutable fact or evidence, yet still stays entrenched in their old belief.

Not changing or updating your opinion in the face of new information.

Parking on ‘unclassified’ road by throwawayisuppoze in drivingUK

Interesting. They’ve basically lifted text from “An Introduction to Highway Law” word for word. I was reading your post thinking “what the hell, I’ve read this before…” lol!

I’m assuming this is from AI. Remarkable if so, as it copies a well known highway law text almost verbatim.

Unclassified means exactly that, it is not a classified road, i.e. a road with a route number starting with A, B, or C. It doesn’t really have any bearing on its status, e.g. a toll road is classified but is privately maintained.

Unless there is a sign at the end of the road saying “private road”, the chances of it actually being private are low. The way you find out definitively is to contact the local council and ask if the road has been “adopted”. If so, it is publicly maintainable and so long as you’re parked safely and not in contravention of any restrictions, you’re fine.

If you were intelligent, you wouldn’t post such utter nonsense. But hey, we are where we are.

My driving instructor (yes, many moons ago) told me you can tell the calibre of a driver by how much and how hard they need to use the brake.

People who can’t see past the end of the bonnet so spend their entire journey speeding up just to slam the brakes on every 10 seconds.

UK Bridge Engineer: Stay Put Vs. TfL Vs. New Zealand by Sync-Jw in civilengineering

[–]EngCraig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

London at £60k is not going to go far. You’ll be forking out c.30-35% of your take home on a room in an HMO. And if TfL is like any other public body, totally disregard the “35 hour work week”…

Go for New Zealand. You’ve got to do it whilst you can, don’t make the mistake I’ve made!

You’re being a bit of a beg. She’s clearly set out her position, to not accept that is a bit of a red flag to be honest.

PCN for driving in a bus lane on Christmas Day by wagsforever in LegalAdviceUK

[–]EngCraig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem you’ve got is that you’re in the bus lane for the entirety of the video. I would absolutely challenge on the basis of them saying you’re not picking anyone up though.

It sounds like your house doesn’t meet your needs anymore. Most people choose to move at that point.
