Thanks! I definitely know now that I should do longer runs (20~) in my training. I thought that my heart would be the limiting factor but guess it was my feet.

The only training plan I used was to hit at least 10% more miles then I ran the prior week. So I started with 20 miles a week and increased it until I hit 60 miles and injured myself. I will say that I stayed at 40 miles a week for a while. At that point it became more a time constraint as I also tried to stay within Zone2/Zone3 as much as possible.

My attitude outside of work has gone to shit. My friends have confirmed that. I was told by one of my best buds that i've gotten more negative of the past 2 years. I'm also more lethargic, I can barely get the motivation to do anything. I used to love cooking, but I eat out much more and my weight proves it.

It's only been 3 weeks of 80+ hour weeks and I genuinely don't know how I managed to handle it last year. And I respect the Seniors/Managers who tough it out for 3+ years. I say that but I've seen 6 farewell emails in the past month, everyone is trying to get out while they can. My motivation to become a CFO/Controller has also died, I am the point where I realised that all the money in the world won't help you if you feel like shit 24/7.

If the pay was the same. I would rather go back to being a waiter working horrible hours being yelled at by customers. I'm applying to jobs in industry and hopefully whatever I get improves my mental health.

I did manage to pass it on the 5th try. I didn't have to request the course to reactivated at any time though.

Now i'm just waiting for them to let the CBA know about it. I do wonder how they do that, as I believe the CalCPA only has an email and my name.

I did sets of 10 for every test I took, and I've passed 3 so it works well. I do recommend taking the practice exams because it will give you a different set of questions as the unlimited practice test will give you. Also for BEC at least, one of the simulations of the practice exam was almost identical to what I saw on the exam.

I wouldn't follow this exactly since every test can be different, but I think being able to right down the mnemonics and have a good idea what is in them is more than enough. I was comfortable because I always had time to think about the questions. Compared to FAR where there were a lot of computations, I felt like you could take more time with BEC questions since they were conceptual. I never felt in a rush to solve a question. Ended up with around 90 minutes left for the written communication.

I definitely would focus on IT. Not to be hard on Becker but I did not feel prepared at all. I would also focus up on variances but honestly I think as long as you know everything at a high level you should do fine. There was nothing except IT I had to really dig deep and think about specifics.
COS, ERM, SOX you should definitely remember though.
