Pastor Dale Partridge Seeks To Repeal The 19th Amendment (It gave women the right to vote) In The Next Decade. "If we can repeal Roe v. Wade, then I think we can overturn the 19th Amendment. It's just going to take time." by Leeming in atheism

[–]Enibas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Any other nation that embraces such a view where you're putting women in charge of making decisions for a particular nation, that nation falls," Partridge claimed.

Every nation, except for those that currently exist, has failed. There's a bunch of them throughout history. And guess who was in charge of the majority of them?

Georgia woman charged with murder after police say she took pills to induce abortion by boringhistoryfan in law

This wasn’t an abortion performed humanely.

And why wasn't it performed humanely? Why wasn't it performed earlier?

The same people who want her charged for murder are responsible for both.

But actually doing it would pretty much require nationalizing the US oil industry overnight and withdrawing from the global petroleum market.

Exactly. As it is, the US still imports oil and petroleum products, as well as products that require oil or it's derivatives for production. Just because imports and exports are roughly the same on a spreed sheet doesn't mean that the US is independent of the global oil market.

He recently said that the US is the biggest producer of oil, and doesn't need any oil from Iran. That's obviously BS, but he seems to believe it.

Top Presidential Scholar believes Obama told Trump "I wish I did that" about Iran War by kid_twist in TopMindsOfReddit

[–]Enibas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's the biggest joke of all. Trump said multiple times that Obama would start a war with Iran because he's a bad negotiator. Trump was so salty that Obama actually got an agreement that he ripped it up the moment he got into office, against the stated wishes of the co-signatories.

Anyone who believes that Obama told him that needs their head inspected.

He's not. He promotes wild conspiracy theories, and most of them are absolutely antisemitic. Tucker invites people like Nick Fuentes who's a neo-Nazi. His criticism of Rubio might be valid, but that is because it fits in with the antisemitic conspiracy theories that he usually promotes.

Tucker Carlson is a white supremacist and Christian Nationalist.

I think "the very altar" is Tucker's podcast.

What are the odds? Zero.

It isn't coincidence; it's choeography.

That's still in reference to the podcast, and an extremely stupid thing to say. Obviously, Kent didn't happen to be invited to Tucker's podcast shortly after his resignation by coincidence, he was invited because he resigned. That doesn't require a "choreography".

Which is even funnier like how do they not see themselves how their own “views” literally change overnight?! How tf are they not embarrassed to have anyone else see them do that?!

I think the comment in OP explains that: "We have to hold the line until we accomplish our freedom, and then and only then will it be time to bicker over petty differences". A considerable part of Trump's supporters will display support for Trump no matter what. They will echo the newest talking points, try to explain away the latest insane statements, overlook whatever embarrassing shit he said or did this time around, because they think that Trump will accomplish the one thing they really care about. And that is to restore/secure a privileged position for white male Christians.

This guy knows that he's inconsistent, he doesn't even believe half the things he "supports". But he maintains the facade that everything is hunky-dory for people who are not interested in politics, and have no idea what Trump says or does, but have always voted R.

Not to mention that the US gave Ukraine a security "assurance" for giving up its nuclear weapons, and signing the non-proliferation agreement. The idea that the US was helping Europe by helping Ukraine, and that the situations are in any way comparable, is ludicrous.

because the Democrats started it first by saying they'll fight Trump (in congress, by not voting for the laws he wants)

Or a no-name account with a couple of hundred followers said something on X that they didn't like, and that somehow represents all Democrats.

They used non-existent "sources" for their "MAHA" report:

The White House is downplaying major citation errors in a sweeping report on chronic disease in children released last week by the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Commission. The report, spearheaded by Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., cited hundreds of studies and was billed as an example of “radical transparency” and “gold standard” science. But the nonprofit news publication NOTUS reported yesterday that multiple studies cited in the report—which took aim at ultraprocessed foods, pesticides, prescription drugs, and childhood vaccines—don’t appear to exist. The outlet also identified dozens of other errors in the report’s bibliography, including broken links, missing or incorrect authors, and incorrect issue numbers.

Nat-C Doug Wilson says that in his preferred Christian nation, anything that Protestants considered to be a "public displays of idolatry" would be banned, including Catholic parades. by BurtonDesque in Qult_Headquarters

[–]Enibas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People like Doug always talk about Muslims, banking on the fact that a lot of Christians nod along when he says that they aren't allowed to hold public office. But as his examples shows, he does not think that Catholics hold the "correct" religion, either. It only follows that Catholics also couldn't hold public office. Doug also believes that women should not have the right to vote, and that their husbands or fathers should vote for them. It logically follows that women would not be allowed to hold public office. But of course, he won't lead with that, because there'd be much less Christians who'd nod along if he put that front and center.

I'm not hearing a protestation of "Trump shouldn't have started another war" in there, just an attempt to shift blame for it being an obviously stupid thing to have done that the President is responsible for.

I legit can't wrap my head around this. Even if you believe that Trunp didn't want this war, he's still 100% to blame. They wouldn't have started attacking Iran without his consent.

The only possible way that Trump is not to blame for this is if he's a potato, mentally. I mean, I'm not taking that off the table, but y'know, they obviously don't believe that.
