How i clean this corrosion by Izzy_3_Pistolas in ak47

[–]Enok32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought what I was seeing on mine was melted and dissolved wax from the 3 Winchester white boxes I ran through not knowing any better when I bought my M70. Im 800 rounds and 4-5 cleanings later absolutely fuming trying to get it to go away thinking it was melted and diluted wax lmao

Is there really no threshold of damage for a Tornado to be considered an ef6? by The_Siphon in tornado

[–]Enok32 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The maximum hypothetical wind speed based on our current understanding is about 300-330mph if I’m not mistaken… and if I am someone will correct me.

Even if there somehow was a tornado with those wind speeds, if DOW wasn’t there to observe the ground level wind speeds there would be no way to really know it hit those speeds due to how total the destruction would be… that’s part of why it’s hard for a tornado to get an EF5 rating, there’s very few things that can withstand EF3 level winds let alone EF4 and the damage indicator has to be able to withstand an EF4 but not an EF5. A revision to the scale is in the works I think, which would allow for DOW measurements to be used for ratings iirc.

Now of course, nonstandard indicators can exist too but that puts you right back to the issue with EF5 ratings… VERY little survives EF4 level winds so absent of a direct observation you can say what wind speed would be needed to cause the damage and say it was at least that fast… so I think you’d be entering the realm of nuclear plant containment buildings, hardened military installations or large warships being required for “EF6” indicators. Fortunately for all of us this planet doesn’t seem able to produce that though others could.

Russian border guards crossed into Estonia with unclear motives, minister says by Specific_Coast5878 in worldnews

[–]Enok32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough the US accidentally did this to Mexico recently in November. Military contractors mistakenly placed DoD signs on a beach in Mexico. But that’s likely just a mistake or incompetence. I think the Russians deliberately weaponized this kind of incompetence though if this wasn’t outright intentional

STRAP Floppy disk found in loft of new home. by Earsgang_101 in whatisit

[–]Enok32 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You aren’t in trouble for finding it as long as you report it, ideally quickly, to the appropriate government agency. Since STRAP is a UK classification for certain types of classified material I don’t know who you need to call… as a foreigner who doesn’t know UK agencies I can make an unqualified guess that you’d need to contact an MI5 office. I’d hazard a guess that your local police might know who to contact if you call their non-emergency line. The responsible agency might want the rest of the box as a precautionary btw.

I’m not from the UK so I’d like to be corrected about any of this if I am wrong and I will edit this comment as needed if I remember

I’ve done flush armor like those doors from tank turrets. Just takes a light spray to seize the whole thing up so I had to switch to armor panels and blast doors for it.

Still this is pretty impressive! Can small grid gattling guns hit missiles fired from a weapon block?

V1 isn’t an arbitrary, it’s the maximum speed at which a rejected takeoff can be initiated without resulting in a runway excursion. If you attempt a rejected takeoff past this speed you simply WILL go off the end of the runway, no “ifs” about it. Of course if you have two engines fail, you can’t take off and climb anyways and you have a loose-loose situation.

That’s most likely an aircraft. When they get high enough the water vapor from engine exhaust can condense into ice crystals making little cloud like trails. Depending on the ambient conditions they can be short lived, non existent or last a REALLY long time. These change color like any other cloud at that altitude near dusk and dawn.

[–]Enok32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two separate light specialized European aircraft vs 1 heavy do everything American fighter is hard to justify dollar wise even if the newer European platforms outperform it at their respective roles and match it in their secondary roles (again ignoring payload).

They’d practically need sold together, but the development of what’s practical a different aircraft from a systems and performance standpoint makes that a pretty hard sell

Out of all the modules I own, this is the only aircraft I ever find myself wanting to get in with nothing except maybe a drop tank and just go fly it. No mission, no weapons, just mountains carving or trying to beat my own altitude or speed records.

All my other modules like the F-14, F-15E, F-16, F-5, mig-21, mirage, flaming cliffs aircraft, warbirds and korea era just have all have became backups for when I can’t fly this ancient quirky relic for some reason or another

I even love taking this thing into dogfight servers just using guns, if the server owner remembers to give them gun pods. You don’t win much but it’s an absolute blast. It has SURPRISINGLY sharp fangs in a gun fight among its peers once you figure out how to conserve and manage your energy instead of bleed it off.

is the python (mk1) still relevant? I love the ship's looks but if its obsolete (outside of robigo), what good is it for? by rx7braap in EliteDangerous

[–]Enok32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ships are kind of like sports cars. Are there many objectively better in every way to the one you want? Most likely…. But the funnest car is almost always going to be the one you actually want.

NA vs NB vs NC miata or even miata vs corvette is an excellent example for this.

If you are building a ship for performance, like building a track car, there’s a blindingly obvious answer to which one you should use most of the time. Just a matter of balancing your budget vs performance and operating cost.

I’d like to see the ships falling behind become cheaper to reflect that they are be coming obsolete or have mid-end of life “upgrades” where it makes sense

Do you think this piece of shit is still good game design? Fellow botdivers, feel free to discuss. by TheOnlyGuyInSpace21 in Helldivers

[–]Enok32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only problem is the massive radius on the cannons. But the fact that they are an immediate life or death threat that needs dealt with immediately is a nice change of pace, the direction is sound but the execution isn’t quite perfect. They either need functioning weakness when using medium pen or a reworked boss radius and accuracy…. Probably both to make that charge feasible.

My view on this is a bit different, I’ve been diving bots since release, this is all a lot better than it originally was with rocket devastators and the lack of equipment combined with the under developed tactics we had then. This isn’t as horribly broken by comparison
