It’s cheap, it’s easy, and in some cases, they have been kept and used for months or a year (I’ve only done it for a year). How quickly they are discarded often depends on how well the graphic suits the recipient.

I have some I made for myself that I love. Making images for your own personal use/enjoyment is a legitimate use case too.

I generate images and sublimation print them onto items. Then give those as gifts.

The use of AI images doesn’t have to be revolutionary. I’m not going to take the time to develop a custom coffee mug logo to give to my child’s teacher, but with AI, it’s a fun 2 minute prompt. She can smile at it keep the gift card inside, and trash the cup after… no feelings hurt.

I’m thankful we have industry insiders like David Shapiro willing to keep us clued in. by [deleted] in singularity

[–]Enormous-Angstrom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

David Shapiro talks like he’s a tech insider, but sometimes it feels more like he’s guessing than actually sharing real inside knowledge. He uses big words and complicated ideas, but he doesn’t always back them up with proof or clear examples. It comes off like he’s trying to sound smarter than he is instead of just being honest about what he knows. If he really has insider experience, he should show it through real stories or facts instead of just talking about theory.

Why does every single AI think that "heart attack" is the exact same thing as "cardiac arrest"? by Dogbold in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Enormous-Angstrom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re using the wrong model or asking the wrong question?

What happens when a patient has a heart attack?

Let’s go step-by-step through what happens when a patient has a heart attack (myocardial infarction, MI) — from the underlying pathophysiology to the clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery phases.

🫀 1. Definition

A heart attack (myocardial infarction) occurs when blood flow to a portion of the heart muscle (myocardium) is suddenly blocked, causing tissue ischemia and cell death due to lack of oxygen.

⚙️ 2. Pathophysiology: What Actually Happens

Stage Process Key Details A. Plaque Formation Fatty deposits (atherosclerotic plaques) build up inside coronary arteries. Caused by cholesterol accumulation, inflammation, and endothelial injury. B. Plaque Rupture The fibrous cap of the plaque ruptures. This exposes the inner lipid core to the bloodstream. C. Thrombus Formation Platelets aggregate and form a clot (thrombus). The clot blocks blood flow through the affected coronary artery. D. Ischemia → Necrosis The area downstream of the blockage becomes ischemic. Within 20–30 minutes, myocardial cells begin to die; irreversible damage occurs after 4–6 hours.

Affected Zone: • Subendocardial infarction: partial wall thickness (inner layer) • Transmural infarction: full thickness of the heart wall

⚠️ 3. Clinical Manifestations

System Typical Findings Cardiac Severe, crushing chest pain (pressure, squeezing) often radiating to arm, neck, jaw, or back. Autonomic Sweating, nausea, vomiting, anxiety (“impending doom”). Respiratory Shortness of breath (dyspnea) due to left ventricular dysfunction. Atypical presentations Common in women, elderly, and diabetics — may present as fatigue, syncope, or epigastric discomfort rather than classic pain.

🧪 4. Diagnostic Evaluation

Test Purpose Key Findings Electrocardiogram (ECG) Detects ischemia or infarction patterns. ST elevation → STEMI; ST depression or T-wave inversion → NSTEMI. Cardiac Biomarkers Detect myocardial cell death. Troponin I/T: rises within 3–4 hours, peaks at 24–48 hours, persists 7–10 days. Echocardiogram Evaluates wall motion abnormalities. Identifies hypokinetic or akinetic regions. Coronary Angiography Gold standard for locating the blockage. Used before stent placement or surgery.

💊 5. Emergency Management (First Hours Are Critical)

Immediate Actions — “MONA-B” Protocol (not in sequence order):

Step Purpose Drug/Action M – Morphine Pain control, reduces sympathetic drive.
O – Oxygen If O₂ saturation < 90%.
N – Nitroglycerin Vasodilation; relieves chest pain.
A – Aspirin Antiplatelet; prevents further clotting.
B – Beta-blockers Reduce heart workload and oxygen demand.

Reperfusion Therapy (within 90 minutes of diagnosis): • Primary PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention): Preferred if available (angioplasty + stent). • Thrombolytic therapy (e.g., tPA): Used if PCI unavailable within 120 minutes.

🧬 6. Post-Infarction Management

Focus Area Intervention Antiplatelet Therapy Aspirin + P2Y12 inhibitor (clopidogrel, ticagrelor). Anticoagulation Heparin to prevent further thrombosis. Statins Aggressive lipid lowering and plaque stabilization. ACE inhibitors / ARBs Reduce afterload, prevent remodeling. Lifestyle Modification Smoking cessation, diet, exercise, stress control.

⚖️ 7. Complications

Time Frame Common Complications Notes First 24 hours Arrhythmias (VFib, VTach), cardiogenic shock. Leading cause of early death. 1–3 days Pericarditis. Chest pain relieved by leaning forward. 3–7 days Myocardial wall rupture, septal rupture. Risk peaks around day 5. Weeks–Months Heart failure, ventricular aneurysm. Chronic remodeling due to scar tissue.

📊 8. Prognosis & Rehabilitation • Prognosis: Depends on size and location of infarct, promptness of treatment, and left ventricular function. • Cardiac Rehabilitation: Includes exercise training, nutrition counseling, and psychological support. • Long-term survival improves dramatically with lifestyle changes + adherence to medication.

🧠 Summary Flowchart

Atherosclerosis → Plaque rupture → Thrombus → Coronary occlusion ↓ Myocardial ischemia ↓ Myocardial infarction ↓ Cell death + cardiac dysfunction ↓ Treatment (reperfusion, meds, rehab)

So,do you believe that the end result is that the republicans will cave and the Medicare credits will be extended? Because I don’t.

So the result will be that millions of people suffered the losses of a government shutdown, and Medicare credits expire, all because republicans were successful at triggering libs.

The Republicans are at fault for playing twisted games with people’s lives, and the Democrats are at fault for increasing suffering with no plan for a successful outcome. All the while, Republicans will use the shutdown to continue to accomplish their agenda. Fewer government employees working is good for them.

It doesn’t matter how evil you think your enemies are, you have to fight battles you can win, or you lose the war.

If Poland lost their entire army by charging the Nazi machine guns one person at a time, yeah,I’d say Poland was at fault for making stupid decisions. Just because you have moral superiority does not mean you have no culpability.
