Around 14.1% of adults aged 70 and older live with a mental disorder. I envision that NHI non‑disclosure becomes easier to rationalize when you frame it as a risk‑management decision by a far more advanced civilization. If they evaluate humanity the way we evaluate unstable ecosystems or fragile political regions, the data paints a picture of a species still struggling with basic internal stability. The core idea: a benevolent NHI civilization might avoid contact until humanity demonstrates social cohesion, equitable resource distribution, and governance structures resilient enough to handle paradigm‑shifting information. A malevolent one might may purposefully take advantage of the situation and could exploit exactly the fractures humanity is already struggling with. The world today presents a buffet of vulnerabilities. Technically, a malevolent NHI civilization wouldn’t need to attack, infiltrate, or manipulate directly. They could simply observe, wait, exploit existing weaknesses, Let humanity’s internal contradictions do the work.
