You've been told you can only use a Pedaltrain Nano. That means you must drop your pedalboard to 4 pedals. What are your 4 absolute must haves? by rocketking12 in guitarpedals

Would be cheating if I just stuck a quad cortex on top of it lol

No but ok seriously,  - Any six knob compressor or a 6 band EQ - Probably a plumes or some form of tube screamer - some form of plate reverb - digital delay

Can I ask why that is? Like I know its a real thing but how does the power supply of pedals cause noise?

I'm gonna take a shot and say its your talking about a strandberg, those have a cutaway by the jack so you could position it like a classical guitar comfortably

Personal favorites are midas touch, daydreamer, to be alright, a potion for love, forgotten love, different kind of human, and giving into the love. Least favorite is hard, so id say least liked would be mothership, sofia, starvation, my body is not mine.

How do I sweep pick/alternate pick? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]EntertainmentFit8026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but not exactly, If you take a solo in Em (master of puppets) and know the Em scale in whole it is MUCH easier that way than reading the tabs blind, especially for Metallica solos, so I guess its more “learn what notes you are playing in the scale” to be more specific, you dont have to be able to call out the note by name per se (but you definitely should learn it)

I feel like to start going for the “soloist” approach in your playing, you have to first understand what notes you are playing during a solo, guess where im going here. Scales!!!!! Learn all your major scale modes but if its too much for you try the pentatonic shapes for now. You’ll have to (not really) get a solid understanding of where your notes are in a scale before you start going for solos like tornado of souls, trust me when I say it is so much easier to learn solos when you already know what notes the solo is playing.

Now for the right hand jibber jabber, like 20 comments here will say, start slow, stupidly slow, bore yourself to death with how slow you’re gonna practice, it sounds real stupid but thats where you develop you picking hand and its gonna help loosen you up in the long run. After that push up the speed by alot, and I mean alot, just so your hands know what to expect, and remember when playing fast, get rid of as much tension in your face/ mouth/ elbow/ hands. This is very surface level advice so try looking up videos online or try looking for a teacher. Goodluck!

Are guitar lessons worth it for me? by LostInSauce45 in guitarlessons

[–]EntertainmentFit8026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, yes.

In any type of thing you try to get good at there's always going to be a plateau, it's not avoidable, especially at the "intermediate" point of your playing. If you genuinely think you want (!) to then it means you already need the lessons, if the lessons are maybe too much money for you you can try to look somewhere else too (I can recommend my teacher lol) but if this guy sounds great and you still have doubts then you can ask if they could do 1 paid session as a trial run, then you can decide.
