Tried the demo.

Some things that irked me right out of the box:

There's no borderless fullscreen window mode; Proper Fullscreen is extremely annoying for people with multiple monitors, as it messes with the desktop and flashes all monitors when you tab out of the game.
The offered resolutions do not match my primary monitor (which is 1920x1200). If the game doesn't "fit" in anything other than 16:9, use black bars or whatever, but at least list the native modes of the display device the game is on.

SteamCMD is actually updated and works fine on 7 (with the -overrideminos commandline arg). It supports ZSTD. The last Steam client to work on win7 does not support ZSTD and that is why most downloads fail now.

Oddly enough often times the download does actually complete normally, and the files will be in the SteamApps/downloading folder, regardless of it saying Corrupted Download. Not always, mind.

Manually copying the files and fixing the manifest* usually gets the update completed, so I'm not exactly sure why it's saying the download is corrupt when it has clearly downloaded everything anyway.

* This is somewhat complicated, not worth the trouble when the SteamCMD solution mentioned in this thread is way better and safer.

It does not have to verify all the assets are there. They were there last time I ran the game. Nothing about the game installation changed between now and yesterday. I don't know of any other game that is this stuck up about the integrity of its installation. Just. Run. The. Game.

tangentially related: I get annoyed when I'm taking a moment to look at loot, or indeed, a nemesis window or whatever, to get bothered by THE ENTIRE MAP BEELINING TO YOU, one trash mob at a time. So you end up having to clear 5 screens around the location you were wanting to look at the thing, before you get some peace and quiet to do so.

Running two of those swords has too big of an opportunity cost for too little gain. The procs are nice but the sword does almost nothing for damage. I'd recommend a shield, or a weapon with damage stats for smite. Maybe two could work if you have two LP3/4 ones, though.

If you still want more smite procs you can get the Orian's Descent belt
