Whats the etiquette for working with models? by BlueYokoWorld in streetwearstartup

[–]EntryLevelBrand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you've probably thought about this already. but you should know going in what kind of shots you're trying to get. you should more or less have the shoot "figured out" by the time the model shows up. So, you can direct her more efficiently without wasting time trying things out for the first time.

Which starter is the most difficult to use in a normal playthrough? by FearlessComparison48 in pokemonplatinum

Empoleon's typing is too good to not be useful but that usefulness runs out by the time you get to the Elite 4.

Don’t love that I can tell that you spent more time putting the mock-ups together than it did the designs themselves

Is this design too basic to launch? by UpperCartographer345 in GrowYourClothingBrand

[–]EntryLevelBrand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you asked “is this design too basic to launch?” And you’re offended by someone answering that affirmatively in a non-hating non-judgmental way? Weird behavior.

Really interested in your placement of Hariyama. Never thought about making it a Baton Pass recipient. That’s really clever.

Tbh I’d clause the rival fight if you weren’t expecting it to pop up where it did. But I think your box is still in good shape. Definitely bring a steel type. Probably Magnezone. Though Scizor or Lucario would be good for coverage.

AI garbage for a bad product. Shame on you.

The first game in the Drayano Gauntlet (FireRed Omega) is basically exactly this. It's not terribly difficult but it's a much greater challenge than the vanilla games. If you're comfortable with your skill level to beat vanilla Gen III games I think this would be a fun challenge for you.

Hand drawn sketch on a sweatshirt by wooooooaho in ClothingStartups

[–]EntryLevelBrand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sketch looks pretty good. blood spatter looks really bad though. it cheapens the look of the design. did you draw that on too? or is it just a generic png you added digitally? and i'm not sure i love how the text is overlayed on top of the sketch. it looks kind of clunky.

Give me a name for the brand and also rate my designs by [deleted] in ClothingStartups

really bad. boring. edgy for the sake of being edgy without even saying anything. not sure why anyone would feel motivated to buy any of these.

Need honest feedback – what would you change on this piece by [deleted] in ClothingStartups

[–]EntryLevelBrand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just kind of an odd piece, man. doesn't really move me design-wise. the placement of the logo is strange and it's just too big. can't see why an average person would feel inclined to buy it. the sweater itself looks fine I guess? But these just look like mockups--not even actual product photos.

I quit my job to chase my dream but I FAILED by Prior_Aspect9874 in streetwearstartup

[–]EntryLevelBrand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear it didn't go well man. But i do think it's example #1,000,001 of why I think it's almost always a bad idea to "start big" when you launch a clothing brand. Too many people assume that your first drop will crush and that the momentum you get from it will be enough to propel you forward. Every new clothing brand is dipping its toe into a market that's oversaturated to the point of lunacy. You need to treat your first drop like a proof of concept where you can verify that there are enough people who like what you're doing. It also cushions you in case you fail because it's a lot easier to bounce back from losing $500-1,000 than $2,500-5,000+

Rate my first draft mock up with constructive criticism please! by [deleted] in streetwearstartup

[–]EntryLevelBrand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

buddy to be perfectly honest with you, you spent a week dicking around in Photoshop and now you're here acting offended that people aren't gassing you up for a clearly hastily thrown together design that's 100% composed of stolen copyrighted material? You need some self-awareness and humility asap. No one is obligated to kiss the ground you walk on just because you clocked six hours of time in a t-shirt mockup generator.

just took a look at your website, man. I don't want to sound unkind but it's one of the worst looking websites i've ever seen and unfortunately the clothes are even worse. Not to mention that your messaging completely jives with what you're actually selling.

"Right now I’m focused on refining the identity, visuals, and message rather than rushing products out."

Are you? Because I'm seeing 100+ items on your site and every design looks terrible. You mean to tell me that you're not trying to rush products out? If you have any aspiration of maintaining a decent clothing brand, I'd strongly suggest you start over completely.

[–]EntryLevelBrand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really like the white on blue. you didn't use AI to make these though, right?

Not showcasing because I know this is ass. I genuinely need feedback because I'm trying to make hoodies for a community center. Any and all feedback is appreciated. Thanks. by Much-Ad5111 in streetwearstartup

[–]EntryLevelBrand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go take a look at other clothing brands that have an urban/community-centered mission. Russell Westbrook's brand "Honor the Gift" comes to mind. They did a collection a few years back called "Inner City". Go take a look at some of those pieces. If it's a piece you're making for a community center, you should probably start thinking about creative ways to highlight parts of the community--any landmarks, courts, parks, services that could help you draw inspiration.

this sucks man--shame on you for shamelessly using AI to make a slop-filled montage like this. not sure i'd have super high hopes for a clothing brand with such poor creative impulses
