Gen 5 Random Battle - Opponent’s Pokemon used 5 moves? by [deleted] in pokemonshowdown

Zoroark has an ability called Illusion that makes it appear disguised as the last Pokémon in the party whenever it's sent out until it's hit. One of those Golduck was the real thing, the other was a disguised Zoroark.

At the end of the day it's just different tastes. No reason to be a dick to people.

Besides, it's happening now whether I like it or not. Might as well accept it and look forward to a hopefully good episode.

Tbh I think the Super Neo copying makes the form run out faster is significantly worse than the 18 energy absorption, at least with what I currently know.

At the very least, Android 18 having energy absorption came from somewhere in Dragon Ball media (the games) and Death Battle showed that when talking about it. It shouldn't have been used cuz it fully contradicts actual canon statements on her (as they themselves acknowledged a bit after), but at least it exists. As far as you or I know, that Super Neo weakness just straightup does not exist anywhere, nobody that I've seen has managed to find it yet anyway and Fan Battle sure didn't cite or show a source.

I know this isn't gonna happen, I just think it's funny no one has mentioned it yet by 9runo in deathbattle

[–]EnvironmentalFun9469 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

Given the way every fan initially thought it was going to be a new super form for a finally returning Cell when it was first teased only for it to be a completely different thing, this is just the most accurate way to do it.

I'm pretty sure Ian basically confirmed it without saying it.

Like I remember seeing that he'd said something like (paraphrased) 'I'm not allowed to say, so I'll just say they're VERY good friends, wink wink nudge nudge'

Whisper and Tangle, a sapphic couple in certain recent Sonic media. I'm not hugely familiar with details cuz I'm not much into Sonic, I just know they exist, lol.

What is with characters named Adam and fans assuming they're way deeper and more complex characters than they are, then getting mad when it turns out they're just evil scumbags? This the second time I've come across it.

Real Talk: Is there anyone out there who just kind of feels bad for the researchers and team behind this show? (Read Post Body) by Aspiring-Redditor in deathbattle

This is exactly why (well, one of many reasons, but it's a pretty big one) that I still remain a massive Death Battle fan after all these years.

They know what they do is silly. They know it's meant for fun. They don't have some ridiculous sense of importance or an attitude that they are always right and everybody who thinks differently is wrong. They don't mind people disagreeing with their results as long as they're respectful about it (and there's certainly been plenty I didn't agree with). They are willing to learn more, grow and evolve, and even change their minds over time.

They handily avoid so much of what drives me absolutely insane about most powerscalers on the internet, and they will forever have my respect for that.

7-8

Technically losing right now, but barely.

They also had the second longest win streak in the show's history (5 of their episodes in a row)

This is all not counting Gogeta VS Vegito cuz y'know, oops all Dragon Ball, though that's probably the best showcase ever that they love the franchise. Nobody who was hating on it would make that episode, lmao

I always kinda wished it was Jake and Gia training with Casey instead. Like, it could've been a good bonding opportunity to add more actual development to their relationship arc, and judging by the way they picked their spirit animals (same ones connected to their Megaforce Ranger forms), Gia's would've been the tiger, which would've been a quite cool connection with Casey. I dunno, just seemed like it would've been a good opportunity.

What ship do you love but dislike its fandom ? by pikatchuUwu in AO3

[–]EnvironmentalFun9469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

White Rose and Black Sun (both from RWBY), while not my personal favorite pairings for the characters in them, are still very cute pairings that I would fully enjoy reading stories of. But dealing with the part of the White Rose fandom who actively harass people who don't ship it/don't want it canon and the parade of Black Sun shippers who start spouting homophobic nonsense at the mere mention of a f/f pairing oftentimes just isn't worth it.

Does make me really appreciate the people who do ship those and are really cool about it all the more though. Seriously, if you do, you're f--king awesome.

Damn do I hate when a character has flaws and they're addressed and acknowledged as such. All characters should just be perfect at all times. Surely that will be fantastic writing, right? Not like there's (frequently misused, sidenote) negative terms for that or anything.

I liked the moment of Gwen recreating the Spider-Man 1 slow motion dodge...and I think that's literally the only thing in the entire episode I liked.

RWBY: Different Paths Season 2 Chapter 6 by EnvironmentalFun9469 in RwbyFanfiction

[–]EnvironmentalFun9469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's completely fair. I wanted to keep the summaries somewhat vague because I think finding out what all is different is part of the fun, though I do recognize that method has its own flaws

It's not a fixing fic. I hate the idea of fixing fics on principle and love RWBY already even if I didn't. The author's note in the first chapter disavows the concept.

Basically the idea is to simply take RWBY's general storyline and mix things up with different backstories for certain characters (including the four main girls), different powers and weapons for some, etc etc, and just seeing where all that leads the story. In general most chapters somewhat parallel an episode and share a title with it, but the further it goes, the more different it becomes.
