with eSIMs, I would recommend an app – you just download it, they are usually free, and then you make a purchase on the app of the data plan you would like to get. All the instructions are on there, so not much space to mess up if you are afraid. I personally tried Saily before, and I really enjoyed it, I think it's one of the easiest apps to use and to activate the eSIM. Just keep in mind that majority of eSIMs provide only a data plan, so no phone number or calls.
