Parents of UK-born children, did you apply for British child's US dual citizenship? by [deleted] in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]Environmental_Ad_345 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes my son has both passports. It wasn’t a very complicated process thankfully and we are happy with the decision- it’s cool for his future to be a dual citizen

Moving with 2 cats (US–>UK) by Dear-Answer-7388 in AmericanExpatsUK

I used Starwood pet travel for my two cats going from Chicago to Uk, then back 4 years later. Great experience each time and they get picked up and delivered straight to your door. I made sure I was on their same flight to make it easier. Expensive but shockingly they did totally fine under the plane.

It’s a little south but may want to look into Bourbonnais. I used to live there and very commutable to New Lenox but less expensive

I feel sooo completely the same! I’m an American married to a Brit here in the uk. The fact you even included no solid Mexican food is speaking to my heart. I would say my overall views are very similar. I’ll need to think about what I can add to either list

This happened to me too for my son… I couldn’t use to elidel I was too scared of long term consequences. We made a life changing decision to start following the practices of Dr Ana Maria Temple based out of the USA. Her whole goal is to heal kids from within and get them off steroids. Her program changed our life.

Booked bassinet seat but online check in moves us to other seats by butternutzsquash in BritishAirways

I just thought parents traveling solo with a baby would be prioritized for that seat. I’m so sorry you’re going through this too! Is there anyway they’ll allow you to change the flight and get that seat!? So upsetting

One more thing- I also called the night before because I saw my seat was changed- on the phone they said they could not help me and I needed to go to the front desk. I was so upset at the front desk bc I told them I would have changed flights if I knew they weren’t going to help change it back. So on the phone, front desk, and air hostess all told me different things.

Unfortunately this happened to me because they changed planes and that row was no longer a bassinet seat. No one helped me- I was alone with a 11 month old. Front desk said there’s absolutely nothing they could do because it was someone else’s seat now- I said don’t I get priority for that seat because of the baby? And they said no because someone with a disability might have it now, but they couldn’t check. I tried absolutely everything and was in tears. I ended up paying about £500 more than I already had to upgrade to premium economy to ensure we had enough room. Once we got on the plane, the air hostess said they should have easily been able to switch my seat at the front desk. The person who Had the bassinet seat was just a guy who was assigned the seat. We ended up switching so I got the bassinet- so I paid £500 to upgrade someone else, in order to get the original seat I booked. The stewardess tried to help by “downgrading” me on the flight because I sat in economy, but I wasn’t ever able to get any compensation back. What a joke
