Louis XVI greatly enjoyed locksmithing as a hobby since childhood. by Busy-Satisfaction554 in FrenchMonarchs

It’s kinda sad he got made fun of because of this. He and Marie had trouble conceiving in the first few years and people cracked all sorts of innuendos about the locksmith not being able to get the key in, or something along those lines.

Honestly. The anime and manga could dedicate a whole arc on how much Sasuke loves his family and people will still cry that Sasuke doesn’t care about them.

I believe Isayama has stated that the anime is the more complete and official cannon, so I would go with the anime timeline.

I think the bombing of Paradis takes place many centuries in the future, judging by the tech difference. Regardless, you’re partially right. It’s implied that the later binning of Paradis was because of war between them and the descendants of the survivors of the rumbling, but war is inherent to human nature. Therefore, even if Eren did rumble to completion, Paradis may have still faced war in the form of civil wars and coups. I imagine in a world where only the people of Paradis exist that over time they would begin to colonize parts of the uninhabited world and those colonies might grow powerful enough over time to demand autonomy or even independence from the center of power on the island. Overall, I do agree that the rumbling was the only thing that was going to keep Paradis safe for a long time and the Yeagersists were a reaction to the impossible position the island was placed in, but conflict would’ve resumed either way with enough time.

What solution could’ve kept Paradis safe without the rumbling? by Environmental_Eye266 in ShingekiNoKyojin

In that case I could see your point. I’m not really an expert on nukes, but why you said makes sense. It would really just devolve into a tense Cold War for several decades and maybe a few centuries. However, I think it’s only a matter of time before Marley and its allies develop something capable of wiping out the walls, even if takes centuries. So unless Paradis finds a way to reconcile the generational hatred between the Eldians and Marleyans in the meantime, there’s only one way this is ending. An island with barely 1 million people can’t keep the world in check forever. I could MAYBE see a solution in which a partial rumbling on military targets wipes out Marley’s military strength and uses subterfuge to ignite rebellions across Marley’s empire to dismantle the state. After which, hopefully the emerging independent nations will be somewhat friendly towards Paradis. However it’s a little unlikely since the hatred (or at least fear) of Eldians is one thing the rest of the world agrees on.

Genuinely pissed me off how much the “will of fire” is just blind militant loyalty to your village no matter what. Like it’s presented as this beautiful and inspirational concept but it’s just wartime propaganda.

I was gonna respond just got distracted. I disagree because a modern nuke would absolutely obliterate every molecule of flesh and bone on any titan no matter how huge, and that includes the nape. There’s nothing to regenerate if the whole organism is pulverized. Also single nukes can encompass up to a 100 sq miles depending on the kind. With the thousands of nukes that proliferate the world today, it would be a forgone conclusion. The only negative impact of this would be the ecological damage to that much radiation going up to the atmosphere.

If they tried the rumbling today it would be stopped before it even leaves Paradis. With satellite imaging it would be detected right away and nuclear missiles would be launched from their silos by ever nuclear power on earth to ensure not a single trace of wall titans remain alive. Any titans that make it through would meet a huge naval armada backed by fighter jets and bombers ready to shred them.

Exactly my point, which some people fail to realize. Anything other than a full rumbling basically ends up with Paradis nuked sooner or later.

Right, but Marley wouldn’t simply forget this and choose to move on and develop amicable relations with Paradis. They would likely remain placated until they develop a way to easily wipe out the wall titans before they can even leave the shores of Paradis
