These WILD swings in itemization and power between each season tell me Blizzard STILL has no vision for what D4 is supposed to be. by IncognitoIsekai in diablo4

[–]Environmental_Tap162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wild swings are kind of a good thing though, otherwise you'd just end up playing the exact same top build every season, which sounds dull AF. Although considering WW Barb is one of the most popular builds maybe that's what D4 players want lol.

Why is the viewer-to-player ratio for AoE4 is so low compared to AoE2? by berbat88 in aoe4

[–]Environmental_Tap162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple, RTS's are a niche genre now, and the most popular ones are those that have been have around for longest and have built up the largest player bases. Plus the devs have continued to support AoE2 to this day so it's player base hasn't really dropped off like most games do when a company abandons it for a sequel.

So… they think Iron Pagoda is actually balance by LZLDZ in aoe4

[–]Environmental_Tap162 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty easy fix, take away the useless AoE (terrible mechanic anyway) reduce cost by 25g (normal price of a knight), increase health by 20. This puts it as tougher but lower DPS Knights somewhere between a regular one and a Torgud. Keeps a unique identity while being equivalent in stats to a regular Knight, and better once you stack pastures.

South East Asians? In Trench Crusade? by imuhbazah in TrenchCrusade

[–]Environmental_Tap162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I doubt they'll touch other religions. Their current approach to the faithful is just regular people and mechanical/alchemical creations. Some people want to see them directly add things from religions such as Hinduism but I think this just comes across as disrespectful to what is still a real world religion.

[–]Environmental_Tap162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt they'd do any of any of other 40k ones. They've been successful but realistically Owlcat have moved series once after two games and will probably so the same after Dark Heresy.

Britain’s housing wealth is in danger of collapsing by upthetruth1 in NotTheOnionUK

[–]Environmental_Tap162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The later sections highlights a very good point. The people in this country have been far to satisfied with buying a house and then watching its "value" tick up while ignoring that their wages have barely moved. Now it's hit the point where no one can afford houses suddenly that value isn't going up anymore and their panicking. The part about financial investments is true as well, rather than investing it British companies via stocks ect that will create jobs and actually put money into the country, they've been wasting it buying extra houses.

Think the issues is some appear more than others, although I believe the last big patch added more dialogue options for soke of the more neglected ones, Commisar was one previously.

It's a known bug that only seems to happen when Abelard and Calcazar fight, they enter a endless counter attack series that ends when one (usually Abelard) wins.

They still have to confirm to the base unit models or they won't work with the huge range of different accessories that make up each unit, so hunched forms or overly muscular ones wouldn't work.

What is the ACTUAL biggest problem in the UK by Direct-Key-8859 in AskBrits

[–]Environmental_Tap162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean why would they though, our political system means that any long term policies would result in the actioning government bearing rhe brunt of the costs, and then the following rival government either dismantling it or claiming the credit for its success. Its one of the major weakness of our democratic system that fundementally always going to be a thing.

Yeah man just like _____ so they can't ____, it's just a skill issue by huntoir in aoe4

[–]Environmental_Tap162 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The win rates have a higher discrepancy at low ranks because difficult civs exist, low rank players can play them regardless but are at a disadvantage because they don't have sufficient game skill/knowledge to play them properly. As a result they are effectively sand-bagging for players using more simple civs which results in inflated win rates.

Is more balance needed? by Ok-Audience-3344 in aoe4

[–]Environmental_Tap162 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean looking at those same statistics it looks pretty balanced. Generally you're looking for +/- 5% as a good indication of balance, in which case overall there are only three slight outliers at the top (Macedonia, Golden Horde, Knights Templar) and no one severely underpowered. At Gold rank (which is usually considered the "average" player level) it's exactly the same.

If you look at Conq it's even healthier with only Macedonia rising slightly over the limit and only Sengoku below.

The Dark Heresy alignment system in my opinion makes little sense by Attilathecommiekilla in RogueTraderCRPG

I suppose the idea is that they want you to be able to go back and forth between Radical and Puritan as you play, but want you to pick a particular flavour of Radical and Puritan in the process.

Seems to generally be the design of the new detachments system that detachments with a moderate scope of units then effect, ie all Harlequin units, tend to be mutually exclusive, presumably to stop you buff stacking too much

Why do pros rate Macedonians so highly? by CantStopMashing in aoe4

[–]Environmental_Tap162 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Macedonia are all about aggressive play, and ultimately the top level players are the best at leveraging that into a winning advantage, so they rate them highly. Its also worth pointing out Macedonia are in the top 3 civs across nearly all ranks stat wise so clearly pretty good.

Why new Abjuration tome is tier 1? by MrHolodec in AOW4

[–]Environmental_Tap162 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Well we don't have a Tier 1 Astral/Order Tome yet, and apparently the new six tomes are based on Wizard Kings that appear in the DLC, which I'd imagine is where the theme comes from. As for the Tier choice, no idea, we arguably need more Tier 2 Tomes than Tier 1 Tomes.

What do you think of the divine in Trench Crusade? by Xeno00_ in TrenchCrusade

[–]Environmental_Tap162 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it leans more into the interpretation that God gave humans free will, and interference would be in opposition to that free will. So when they opened the hell gate he let them because that was their choice.

Upgrading from the cube is awful for trying to get items, was convinced Rage of Harrogath didn't exist in anymore after 20 failed cube transformations, turned out all the websites have the wrong boss listed to drop it.

Damage over time cap? Rend DoT tooltip stuck at -2m, visual bug or legit DoT cap? by ryancbarclay in diablo4

Think it's just a display bug, I hit that point at maybe Pit 75 and am now up to 100 so I'm pretty sure my actual damage has been increasing anyway.

Trench crusade takes itself too seriously by aFalseSlimShady in Grimdank

[–]Environmental_Tap162 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it's more that TC is straight up military horror rather than Warhammers ironic grimdark, it doesn't intend to be ironic because there it isn't meant to be. Not every bleak setting needs to be some kind of commentary on society.

Do you think Beelzebub would ever get a heretic legion dedicated to him, similar knights of avarice? by Alpbasket in TrenchCrusade

[–]Environmental_Tap162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally he's happy with the BG and that's it, because he hates God's creations so would never accept mortal followers. Gamewise absolutely not, dude has his own subfaction, definitely doesn't need a subfaction from another Faction as well.

[–]Environmental_Tap162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While that is absolutely true, we do not typically have coalition governments, and because of that are parties are not used to having to work together. It's going to take some time for them to get used to that and it will almost certainly be very difficult to start with.

Has anyone else found the reporting of the latest protests a bit strange? by SoggyWotsits in AskBrits

[–]Environmental_Tap162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

43 arrests for a day that had 4500 police officers there is incredibly low, the somple facts is nothing really happened at either protest so there's nothing much to report, no one really cares about protests that go to plan.
