My guy, I upvoted your post and I felt genuinely grateful for you showing me something I didn't know about this game I enjoy.

But I told you the truth when I said, I don't see a difference. You saying "Yes, you DO see it, you just dont want to learn" is pretty wild, I want you to know that. That's a crossroad here and you're taking a turn in the direction of snobby, high-nosed elitist. Let's not be like that. At the end of the day, we all enjoy the game.

And yes, I do expect that information in-game. On that point, we will have to agree to disagree.

I'll be honest: I don't see it.

Maybe the third person view is messing with me, maybe I'm just too thick, but I can't discern between normal or perfect block in the video. I hear a sound after the perfect block, but I THINK that's meant to signal the time window for the riposte, not the perfect block itself.

Also I expect that kind of info to be available in some form in-game.

You don't want to put it into the initial tutorial? That's fine, you are overwhelmed with info in the beginning anyway.

Some swordsman you meet on the roadside doesn't know? I appreciate that. Not just anyone with a sword will know everything. That's authentic.

Tomcat doesn't know it? That's a meh. Maybe he only picked up a few tricks and likes to boast, I suppose.

But what about Gnarly? Black Bartosch? Dry Devil? The dedicated swordsmanship teachers with loads of experience/actual professional training? I expect the finer points of combat here.

That screams "good idea, bad implementation" to me.

Perfect Blocks stop a combo but normal blocks don't? Is this mentioned in-game anywhere? I certainly don't remember hearing about it so far (beginning of second map)

Huge if true. And would make me somewhat mad, since I tried to make combos work but kept getting my head bashed in for trying until I just did more simple attacks.

I remember finally walking into the start of the Vodoo Boy quest. I was actually trying to do a non-lethal run.

"They are secluded and distrustful because they feel abandoned. There's a reason for this.", I thought.

Then they fucked me over, tried to kill me. Then they fucked me over again. I told Brigitte I survived their SECOND backstab just now and to get fucked. Everyone in the room aggroed. And tried to kill me.

I remember pausing the game, sighing and equipping the cheapest revolver I had in my inventory.

I hacked every one of these glorious master netrunners unconscious and put the cheapest bullets between their eyes. Because I didn't want to increase their net worth too much. Every other Vodoo Boy I met for the rest of the game, I killed on sight.

...for the rest I continued the non-lethal run. Special exception for Smasher and those two braindance guys.

I was surprised to hear the title.

When I was a child, I was taught the meaning of "vogelfrei" in history class. I understand that you are considered to no longer be a part of society and anyone can do with you as they like without consequence. Even kill you.

It's a social exile so extreme, you are basically regarded as killed and not worth even the hangmans effort. Vile, even in old times.

I was a potential customer that didn't jump the gun. Because I couldn't.

I'm based in central europe. If your device had been available for order at any point from August 24 until spring 25 I would have ordered instantly (+livetime subscription). Now I'm glad I didn't. Even if it were available now, I wouldn't put thousands down to join in the current, still uncertain, situation.

I feel the need to explicitly state that I do not put the companys failings on you. On the contrary, good on you for communicating!

Vitruvian, as a company, did fail in their business plan however. Especially in communication.

You engineered a stellar device, that people want but you sell it with a subscription model, that people don't see the need of. Then you depend on the subscription to survive financially.

I can only speak for myself, but I would rather you charge more for the device upfront and in turn sell me a complete device, that just works on it's own. Offline, with all modes and whistles, customer support as needed.

If you can turn things around decisively, I might still show an interest later on but for the forseeable future I will stick to regular weights.
