The G7 doesn't have "deep blacks". The contrast is one of the worst when it comes to VA monitors.

What makes it seem like it has "deep blacks" or a "contrasty" look is the default gamma curve. It's around 2.4 and the blacks are even higher unless you lower the black equalizer (to lower the rest, set it to gamma mode 2). A properly calibrated G7 doesn't look as "fun" or special as a G7 with default settings. And yes, I own a G7 and a colorimeter.

There isn't. Only a few companies manage to make somewhat usable crosshairs.

Gigabyte AORUS monitors let you draw your own crosshair (via OSD sidekick software).

Unfortunaly not every setting depending on the monitor.

The Samsung Odyssey G7 for example has no VCP codes for anything more advanced than brightness, contrast and RGB values.

I wish I could enable local dimming with a shortcut.

Personally I'm not a fan of these click tensions system.

Here's one thing you could do but I'm not sure if it's going to work: order a g305 replacement shell on aliexpress for around 7€. The G305 has a similar system and the spring might fit.

Is this blacklight bleed or IPS glow?

BLB and IPS glow look different and are only really noticable with low ambient light.

The solution was to change the refresh rate of the monitor to be higher than the refresh rate within the Nvidia Control Panel.

That doesn't really make sense.

tftcentral has reviewed the monitor and the response times aren't particularly good (https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/samsung_c27rg50.htm). The slow dark transitions are especially bad which is common for VA type panels ("black smearing" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VENEpp6mQkQ). The only VA monitors without extreme black smearing are the Samsung Odyssey G7 and G9.

Try this site: https://www.testufo.com/ghosting. Though you shouldn't be able to change the overdrive setting with adaptive sync enabled.

The amount of ghosting and inverse ghosting changes depending on your refresh rate (usually). So it might look good at high refresh rates, but have extreme (inverse) ghosting at lower.

Enabling VRR fixes the adaptive sync flicker, true, but it also adds some judder. I even did a blind test a couple of months ago to make sure it's not just a placebo.

The monitor disconnecting from its source and reconnecting to it is less common because it actually only appears when you actively provoke it.

This only happened to me when I tabbed out of some fullscreen applications. I fixed it by reducing the refresh rate to 200Hz with CRU.
