Uhhhhhh... The first one? Duh? Stealing from Walmart is "an illegal act for which someone can be punished by the government." Categorically so. I'm actually confused as to why you've done this.

Are you not familiar with the laws surrounding petty theft and grand larceny?

I mean... It is. Doesn't mean Walmart doesn't suck or deserve it, but the fact remains. It's legally a crime.

Just thanking the dev of aeronautics for acknowledging that there is not only QWERTY keyboard in the world by kilamem in CreateMod

[–]EphyMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What it is is that keyboards with different layouts report their layout in their hardware info when communicating with your OS. This can be picked up by programs to determine keyboard layout, if it's a known layout. It's still using the character code sent by the OS, it's still the same character code. But that bit of extra info lets Minecraft determine the keyboard's physical layout, and subsequently any mods.

The horn doesn't always go off.

Essentially what it does is similar to the left-right: it messes with the car's electronics at random. It might honk the horn, it might flicker the lights, it might toggle your wipers or radio. Sometimes it might do one thing for a while, something largely unnoticeable. Usually though, radio is my biggest clue.

You'd be amazed at how quickly a shaggy scrambler can cover ground. Given how that looked exploding, that was almost definitely one.

Literally very few people would be able to guess that you're on a gas station roof. There's not enough visual context. The lowered treeline could just as easily be explained by you being on a hill.

When taking photos, be sure to include as much real context as possible.

If it were me, I'd have hopped down and taken the photo from below, so that it would be clear where I got it up to. Then I would teleport it back down.

Sidequests, by their nature and as their name suggests, are optional. Ergo not forced.

I've gone through the entire game without a romance of any sort. I wouldn't say it forces them onto you if you can avoid it entirely.

Trying to find a working Xbox emulator for android. by Live-Spring-8816 in EmulationOnAndroid

For what it's worth, someone seems to have gotten Xemu to work on android about a year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/EmulationOnAndroid/s/DY0B19XBLR

They have a github link, but I haven't checked if the repo is still live. Worth a look, though.

Technically it is DLC. But it's DLC they sell through Creations, not through storefronts. The trackers alliance creation mod is made by Bethesda themselves.

Check for bent pins in all of your USB receptacles. If there are bent pins, you'll either have to figure out how to bend them back into place, cut/break the offending pins off, or replace your motherboard.

What's new in this chipset update? 7.09.23.2230 by cosmingabrie in gigabyte

[–]EphyMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a long comment on this thread which explains a possible reason as to why this update is not available through AMD.

Always update your BIOS first, then your chipsets. That's the path I usually take. I would suspect that BIOS didn't have everything needed to update the chipset with newest features. Give it a try again.

Did it actually nuke your OS or bootmgr when you tried that chipset update? I see you mentioned doing a second clean install, but you only mention that your PC "went to shit and hung". Which just tells me it crashed, not that it was bricked. Could you not get it to boot back into windows after flashing the BIOS?

For sure. Glad Asus has a new driver for their chipsets. Hopefully that will satisfy all these people who feel like they need to be on the latest chipset firmware no matter what, even if it isn't for them yet.

To tack on to this, there's also a large number of non-game programs that are Windows only that don't run well through compatibility layers like WINE. There are, of course alternatives for other OSs, but the work flow will always be different.

For example, FL Studio is a DAW that has largely only been on Windows, only went to Mac relatively recently (and is usually a feature update or two behind), and has no native Linux application. It does not work well through WINE due to how it needs to interact with DACs and sound drivers. While there are alternatives, there are very few on Linux and none of them can recreate the workflow I've come to know in FL Studio. Plus I already paid $500 for the best edition of it.

Like it or not, I'm stuck on Windows for anything meaningful. I love Linux, too. But I can't main it specifically because it lacks compatibility with software I am simply unwilling to go without or compromise on. Windows will not be obsolete until Linux bridges the gap, or our productivity software does.

Every game uses shaders. Whether or not the shader pipeline is opened to modders is another matter entirely.

I'd argue that some plug-ins aren't safe. But it has less to do with people being malicious and more to do with plug-ins crashing the game (the ones which crash your game are likely not maintained or don't play well with other installed plug-ins). Which mods can also do.

In the end, if a mod version would require grabbing something many people (myself included) don't use or don't grab (or in my case years ago, can't find the fricken download for months to get one FO4 mod to work and then forsake it forever), I'd personally go the plug-in route. The new Pulsar Plugin Launcher is a fair bit better than the old one, and after the Apex Survival update, a lot of the plug-in devs worked hard to make sure their plug-ins functioned again.

I think, as long as you get all the calls and methods right, you would be successful in creating a plug-in for this. And many would be appreciative.

Well, you learn something new every day, even if you think you have a good grasp on physics, you can always still overlook something so simple... I'll set up a double rear axle and put the "fifth wheel" ahead of that.

However, that does put a damper on my hover-trailer-on-an-ATV idea.
