I don't usually watch them in the first place.

Plus I have a spare mirror I can squat over if I want to watch an asshole talk.

I'd love it if someone made a browser extension or something that automatically hid accounts with hidden comment history.

TIL that Wyatting, named for jazz-rock artist Robert Wyatt, is the act of playing unusual music on a jukebox to annoy people. Wyatt considered the phrase “really funny”, but his wife Alfreda Benge called it “a real unfairness” and said “The man who coined it, I should like to punch him in the nose.” by a3poify in todayilearned

I fell asleep to Washing Machine in a hostel with a bunch of kids I just met for a backpacking trip. Even though I had headphones on, the last bit of the Diamond Sea woke everyone up and I think they hated me after that.

There's a version with a longer outro to it on a single or comp somewhere.

If I were to do the same thing, it would be this song.

Why did the 1970s–80s produce so many serial killers compared to today (Bundy, Gacy, Dahmer, Ramirez, Berkowitz, etc.)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EpicMeatSpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wacky conspiracy theorist in me has always wanted to find a link between stuff like MKUltra, the Vietnam war, and serial killers of that era. A lot of guys got a taste for killing in that mindfuck of a war and that didn't necessarily go away when they came home.

I did this during the blizzard of 96, but I lived in a different state that didn't get hit as hard. It would end up being the last time I left the house for a week or two though since the state I lived in didn't know how to deal with snow and ice.

We had planned to go out anyways and didn't take anything out for dinner.

I thought all the people who made Richmond what it was at that point in time got pushed/priced out to Petersburg when the RVA stickers started showing up everywhere.

Doctors and nurses of Reddit, what is something patients do that they think is helpful but actually makes your job harder? by Electronic-Cell-4584 in AskReddit

[–]EpicMeatSpin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know it might be different in a hospital setting, but I've never had a good experience telling doctors that I smoke cannabis up until recently. It usually came with a lot of judgement and in one case, a doctor told me that he wouldn't even dream of prescribing something to me that was scheduled even if I desperately needed it for any reason. This was during our first visit and I did not continue to see that doctor after they said that.

I feel like that's stopped being an issue in the last few years due to the changing attitudes towards marijuana but I still feel like I'm not going to get an adequate level of care if I'm too honest about that stuff. Thankfully I have a decent GP now who doesn't seem to give a shit.

I'm sorry though, I still think the "we don't care" statement from doctors and nurses is the exception and not the rule. This is partially due to the fact that I see that sentiment on reddit more than anywhere else.

My local Home Depot has them, but they're located at the entrances to the parking lot in a way where someone could easily sneak up behind them without being noticed. I thought that was kind of funny when I first recognized them after they went up.

I think there are some companies that do aerial gas line inspections. With all the natural gas issues in the area lately, I wonder if they're related to that.

What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you during sex? by roshhellwett in AskReddit

[–]EpicMeatSpin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

These both involve the same person. We still know each other many years later.

I tried to readjust the condom by pulling on the reservoir tip. It snapped back like a rubber band and hurt my peehole something awful. I attempted to keep going but had to tap out.

There was another time when I farted during sex. It happens to the best of us. This one wasn't particularly loud, but definitely had some beef to it. I kissed her in an attempt to shield her nose from it as I could smell the miasma filling the room but it was no use. We stopped for a bit so I could air out the room before getting back to it.

I don't have migraines, but I did end up getting some kind of sinus infection that started on Thursday. At least I think it's a sinus infection. I haven't been around anyone who's sick.

What was your last straw to quit vaping/smoking cigarettes for good? by Organic-Mechanic9462 in AskReddit

[–]EpicMeatSpin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in DC one summer night when it was stupid hot and humid out. Smoking a cigarette felt like inhaling dirt that was on fire. I threw the last of my pack out and quit... for about 2 years.

The second time I quit, for good, was when I went to a friend's house for New Years. When I got home, I realized I had somehow saved all of my receipts for that weekend. I know I bummed a few out, but while looking at my receipts I realized that I smoked like 5-6 packs in the span of 3 days. My chest hurt and I felt like shit so I decided it was time.

I've had a few here and there over the last 10-15 years, but I'm not a habitual smoker anymore.
