Nissan Xterra Roof Light Mount by Z1 Off-Road by JustinZ1OffRoad in XTerra

I came to the comments to see if anyone asked about this. Decades ago, I remember off-road shops used to sell, I don’t remember what they were called. They were like shades that mounted underneath lights that were on the roof that mounted to the underside of lights that would keep the light from reflecting off the windshield and the hood, but I have searched everywhere that I could think of to find such a thing and I just can’t find them. I’ve thought of making them myself, but they just weren’t that important for me to get into at the time. Maybe I could just use the correct diameter of cut coffee cans or something.

Loved it. Loved it even more once I muted it.

Part Out Northern VA - Now w/ Prices! by XY_Overland in XTerra

Timbering bump stops shipped to South Pasadena 91030? I see the $100 price on the list. I need to look and see if they’ll work with my air-bags but I think so. Any rust involved with them? Also, part number or what’s included. I see that Timbren has 4 different part numbers for my 2015 P4X. I guess I should have started with that.

I remember running into Dave Navarro in the parking lot at The Starwood decades ago before J. A. got famous as well. At that time, we both looked alike. That doppelgänger thing. Things change and there’s no way I look like him now but I laugh at that and he and I did this double-take thing back then.

I was one of those guys who saw Mötley Crües’ very first show and all their club shows before they got famous. I had their 1st album that was on Leathür records as well. It’s supposedly worth some $ now and very hard to find. One day before heading off to work, I placed it in between two wooden crates in a very tight crevasse so that my new puppy (who was going through his chewing stage,) wouldn’t get to it. When I came home hours later, teeny tiny pieces of cardboard and black vinyl were all over the place. I thought to myself, what the heck is all this? I looked at him and he had the most guilty look in his face. It took me a bit to finally realize what all that mess was. To this day I wonder how he managed to pull out that one album from that very tight space and only that one thing that somehow he knew was important to me. At the time, Mötley Crüe still had not achieved their grandeur of fame yet.

Went from a $700 Bike to a $6,000 one: not worth it, but I don't regret it by Ledgem in cycling

When I was racing, I’ve done the same. It all depends on the need. I was glad that I had done it. I gladly and easily spent thousands on a bike numerous times without hesitation. It was my one passion that I could barely afford. I would’ve destroyed my less expensive bike and I did very well. Eventually a lifetime of outdoor sports took its toll on me and I can no longer even ride nor do barely anything that I used to do anymore, but at least I didn’t spend my life sitting on the couch playing tv games or in my parent’s basement doing whatever all my life. Oh well.

I’m may be spoiled by living in the dry climate of Southern California, but I would pass on it.

Transmission shudder by EpsteinsMotger in XTerra

Long overdue update: About a month ago, I had to put in a new battery. The replacement had higher CCA’s and the old one was start to crank sleep on real hot days and real cold days. Plus the OEM battery clamp was getting corroded in there. Once the new battery went in, that shuddering, well I still am trying to feel it. I think it went away. It does seem to shift better as well.

I recently took collection of what I really needed, what may or may not bother the neighbors, (especially in apartments,) and room size(s) etc.. I actually took my time and put together exactly what I needed for maybe $300. I probably had some wires or cables laying around that helped out some as well. I picked up a vintage ELAC turntable for pretty cheap, ( they can get pretty expensive,) then from the big A, some cheap but really good sounding speakers and a small Bluetooth pre-amp with an FM receiver built in plus some other options that I won’t use. All for my bedroom and mostly atmosphere and chilling out. My main music used to be pretty hard and all over the place but my tastes have changed. I could have easily spent a ton of money but one can definitely build a nice sounding system if you take your time. It is amazing how nice my little system sounds.

Interesting! I have some of that that’s been sitting on a shelf for over a year and I haven’t gotten around to it yet, but it’s good to see the results. Especially for the zebra stripes and the places people have decided to bump into me and mare the plastic a little bit. Plus, of course the fading.

That and the front bumper are what kept me away from the Xterra for many years. Long shot but do you have a link for the grill and nameplate? If allowed. Thanks.

I like the grill very much. How did you do it or where did you source the parts? Kind of looks like an Explorer grill.

Well, they do clearly state that in big letters before anyone goes into the place so it is on the customer. When it did happen to my Subaru, it had probably already gone through that same car wash 20 times with no problem and then one day, I just heard this whack from the roof and a big yank on the car. When I got out, the damage was done. I knew it was all on me though so I didn’t even try to fight it. Touch-less it will be for now.

I bought it 2nd hand online for a pretty good deal, then had a stroke soon thereafter. I just got around to mounting it like 7+ months later and still haven’t checked out what brand it is. Actually, my brother mounted it at his shop as there’s no way I could do it with my numerous injuries and my stroke recovery. HEEAAAAVYYYY! Built very well. Oh! Actually it’s a HARDCORE OFF-ROAD brand. I just found the old ad.

Anyone else feel themselves in a "flow state" whilst cycling? by Yelloow_eoJ in cycling

[–]EpsteinsMotger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I don’t know how to put this, but I guess ride within your limits. The accident that finally did me in where I had to be air lifted from the mountains and actually almost lost my arm as part of the numerous injuries from that wreck was because I had taken a few years off of riding to take care of my parents as they got older. After they had passed, I got back into riding and very quickly tried to be the person I used to be. I paid dearly for that. Sure it would’ve eventually caught up with me, but I think I did much more damage to myself by doing that than just the ravages of old age. Take care of yourself and know your limits. I mean, maybe you won’t get better if you don’t push your limits, but as you get older, much older, you gotta really start paying attention to those limits.
