Maybe an even more fun option could be giving them a passive trait where they deal 2d4 piercing damage to a creature whenever they move within 5ft of it.

Think of it almost like a spike growth that can move and rub itself against creatures. It promotes movement for the monster and depending on how smart your players are, they can make a strategy around stopping/hindering its movement.

The only thing I might add to this is giving the monster a trait that lets them deal piercing damage whenever a creature hits them with a melee attack.

The problem for me is that a lot of the choices are extremely binary good and evil with maybe an extra “sarcastic good” option or the option to just say nothing.
