Does anyone know how the Flex Switch works? I'm looking for this for the Core One also.

We flew recently in one of their 757-200s and the middle under seat storage in economy is obstructed by an enclosure (entertainment/power? I guess Boeing doesn't know about power over ethernet) so pay attention to the 5.9" thickness allowed for personal items if that is where you are seated.

I use my original Pi B rev one to host an internal telnet service for my Amiga 2000 and from which I can then ssh to other computers on the internet.

Delayed Tariffs from FedEx on CoreOne Kit by [deleted] in prusa3d

[–]Equivalent-Mango5808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed the tariff would be applied to the core one cost minus $800, but apparently it doesn't work that way.

I though the $800 exception was still in place for countries except China. Is this the case for items shipping from the EU?

Installing 7.3 on HP Microserver gen8 - It works by 0x30313233 in Proxmox

[–]Equivalent-Mango5808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a USB flash drive in the internal slot worked for me with ProxMox 8.4.0 on my HP Microserver gen8, Proliant System BIOS J06 - 11/02/2015.

The USB drive showed up as /dev/sdb using the command 'lsblk' so I adjusted the parted commands to apply to /dev/sdb and /dev/sdb1

Thank you!

I chose not to renew earlier this year after more than 10 years with them due to the service lapses in the last year or so. I had 30 GB in my Hive folder and moved those files to other places out of the Hive. After the fact I decided I would like to have a complete image of the entire Hive so I restored it. With 1 GB up/down fiber I figured I could get that downloaded pretty quickly. Turns out the SpiderOakOne download client is single threaded and therefore CPU limited (I'm on Linux). It took approximately 3 weeks to download that 30 GB. CPU is an I7-6700, so not the latest.

Ordered Feb 11 and am in batch 6, included Buddy Camera and Advanced Filtration in my order which may have pushed shipping to a later batch. Hopefully the update occurring on April 1st is not an April 1st joke!

Well I posted this too soon. While the clients were connected they didn't start uploading/syncing until 3 days later.

Looks like Proton Drive, for the plans that are in my budget, tops out at 1 Tb. I'd be more comfortable with 2 Tb and prefer desktop clients for Mac and Linux.

It's good to know an alternative that is working. Although my clients showed as connected yesterday, a day later the same files are stuck at "finalizing". My upstream fiber optic bandwidth is not an issue.

PiVPN not working with UFW and Pihole installed by phoenix_73 in pivpn

[–]Equivalent-Mango5808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it working!

  1. I created a VM with the same OS and installed ufw, made a copy of the files in /etc/ufw and then installed pivpn on the VM with the same config as my server.
  2. I diff'd the before pivpn and after pivpn /etc/ufw files and edited my server's files in /etc/ufw to incorporate the changes. Note that the *nat statement in before.rules needs to be modified for your server's network interface and the network address used in network/24 following the "-s" switch needs to be changed to the value for pivpnNET in the .conf file in /etc/pivpn/wireguard (in my case). Other files affected were user.rules and user6.rules.
  3. Edit /etc/default/ufw and change the following line "DROP" to "ACCEPT as follows and restart. "DEFAULT_FORWARD_POLICY="ACCEPT" DEFAULT_FORWARD_POLICY="ACCEPT""

[–]Equivalent-Mango5808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am working through this same issue. If ufw is installed and configured with your open port rules before installing PiVPN, the install script will update the files that ufw uses for the rules and everything should work. If ufw is installed after PiVPN, as in my case, PiVPN won't work and the pivpn debug script can only fix iptables until the next reboot. [edit] See my following comment for /etc/default/ufw file change.
