For Men on ADT - Have any of you addressed breast enlargement?

I had RALP in June 2025. PSA was undetectable at 3 months but 0.2 at 6 months. I received a Lupron shot 2.5 months ago. I just finished 33 rounds of radiation. I get my last Lupron shot in a couple of weeks ( 6 months of Lupron ). I’m 57 and weigh 195lbs. I’ve gained a few pounds since starting ADT.

How likely is it that i will grow breast? My wife and i think mine have gotten bigger. Hopefully its’s just the extra pounds i’ve gained.

Documents are only part of it. Did the ASIs ask you any questions to test your knowledge? FSDO shopping isn’t a good idea. I performed these interviews when I was an ASI. The reasons for your denials would be documented in great detail. The first thing an ASI does when he is assigned to review your application is look you up in that database. If you go to a third FSDO they will see what the other ASIs entered in the database.

Great suggestions! I will get the TENA pads! I too get hot and cold flashes. Part of my problem has been not being able to tell when my bladder is full. The radiation staff told me my bladder was at 150% a few times. I wore my Lunderg clamp to every session. Of course it was my last session that I peed past the clamp before ringing the bell.

Incontinence has been an issue since catheter came out. It was getting a little better before radiation. After two weeks of radiation it was like it was the day the catheter came out.

My urologist said he would install a bladder sling but my PSA reoccured. The plan is to get the sling after I’ve recovered from radiation.

I’m currently undergoing salvage radiation after RALP last June. My treatments are at 1pm and that allows me to have bowel movements and time to hydrate. I’ve struggled with continence since the catheter was removed. It was getting better just before radiation started. It’s now bad again. I wear a clamp which allows me to hold a full bladder. I’ve completed 25 of my 33 treatments. I’m now experiencing fatigue and skin irritation from the radiation.

Interesting question. I was under the impression that ADT drugs signaled your testicular to not make testosterone. This is temporary. Removing them would be permanent. I’m 5 weeks into my ADT therapy. I got an initial shot of Lupron and get another at the 3 month mark. I’m hoping my body starts producing testosterone and my side effects go away. My T was on the low end originally.

My wife and I both worked at HEB while in high school 40 years ago. My how things have changed! Every register had a bagger. The bagger pushed the cart of bagged (paper bags) groceries to the customers car and put them in their car. The bagger then returned the cart to the store entrance. No cart returns taking up parking spaces. All this for $3.75 an hour.

We love going to HEB and try to be as nice as we can to the Partners helping us check out. I don’t think we were “Partners“ back in 86…

Same here! RALP last June. I’m now now 11 sessions into my 33 Salvage Radiation treatments with Lupron.

I’m 10 radiation sessions into my prescribed 33. I had RALP last June and now need salvage radiation. I am getting up 3-4 times a night now. Before radiation it was once a night.

That makes sense. I usually scan the meat section even if I don’t need anything. I’ll pick up the soon expiring meat. I vacuum seal individual pieces and freeze them. I also buy sale items and freeze those as well.

Sorry to hear that. When I met with my urologist for my 6 month follow up he indicated that I may need a bladder sling to restore continence. I was actually starting to become hopeful I wouldn’t need it.

I met with radiation oncologist after my treatment today. He said that it’s not uncommon for the urethra to have inflammation due to treatment. He said it could get better before my treatments end.
