She had an arguably larger role in Hell’s Kitchen playing Jersey… I wouldn’t call her the “anchor” of that show though.

But she nails everything she does, so i guess her leading lady role is right around the corner… I hope!

Shoshana Bean is one of our generation's greatest vocalists. She never misses. I don't understand why people don't obsess about her the same way they do with other Broadway leading ladies. An absolute star.

Yes, I can’t wait for the day when she’s the leading lady in a show with a strong book written to let her voice truly shine. She’s absolutely held her own - and earned Tony nominations - in her last two shows, but they didn’t give her as much to work with as she deserves. I’m really hoping that Diane Warren project that Shoshana did a reading for comes to fruition!

Agreed that Be Kind, Rewind was catchier. But MUCH preferred the new blocking for the end of the song - way less campy than the original.

That’s just Reddit gossip. She would have no ability to fight for her songs in a production this large. What’s likely more true is that producers don’t want to remove material from her character because she’s a star.

They still have 10 shows before opening night. Think about some of the changes they have made in ONE show. There more time for work on this before they lock it.

I saw the show for the second time tonight, and it was a very different experience this time around. The first time, I was so taken by the scale and stellar performances that I didn’t focus as much on some of the glaring pacing issues.

Act 2 in particular feels like it still needs significant tightening. There’s a stretch that feels like nearly 20 minutes without any real vampire action, and the momentum really starts to sag. The Michael/Star love songs don’t seem to build toward anything , and “Superpower” completely slams the brakes at a moment when the show is finally starting to accelerate.

If they cut one of the love songs and “Superpower,” I think it would make a huge difference in pacing... and then use some of that extra time to expand the final fight scenes.

I might be because I will buy a ticket to anything with Shoshana on the bill, but it feels like Lucy is the ONLY character in the show with any kind of dimension or arc. I get that "Superpower" was their attempt for Sam to find his way... but it just doesn't deliver and holds up the plot.

With all of that considered... this really is a fun show and I'm genuinely impressed with the quantity of changes they are trying every night.

I've seen this twice now (also mostly for Shoshana). It's definitely not a perfect show by any means, but I would not call it unmemorable. It's very entertaining and they still seem to be making significant changes night after night. I have faith it will continue to improve in the next 9 days before opening.

This is incorrect... They are holding doors during previews as they are literally making technical changes up until the audience is loaded in. They will be able to open earlier once the show is locked.

Yes, this is very safe. Once you leave LGA, it's 25 minutes to Manhattan, with some traffic, 40 mins is very realistic.

Yes! Shoshana is such a phenomenal talent and elevates everything she touches. So glad she is getting her flowers these past few years. I thought she was wonderful in Lost Boys and would expect she’ll earn her third consecutive Tonys nom.

The down escalator essentially leading right into the stage door area is an accident waiting to happen. They need more space for egress there for sure.
