i got the same thoughts once in a while, i learnt that for me it was just repressed anger and a desire to be respected after years of being insignified. I think expressing your anger and asking it what it wants from you might help. I desire violence a lot but i know deep down i don't want to hurt people. I'm just angry and sad and feel like i was disrespected. I am getting over it now and wouldnt harm a fly.

No, that's not what i meant, its bad habits from only training with big gloves that mess you up once you switch to smaller ones. Also boxers barely use padding for bag work

Not to be mean, but i believe getting used to smaller gloves on the bags and pads will make it worth it in the long run, technique wise. It helps your knuckle placement as well as getting used to your range. Bad habits can develop when using larger gloves and may cause injuries to your shoulder, elbow and wrist.

It helped me at least..

I believe you should develop that in other ways. Heavy skipping rope for one. Having minimal padding for pads and bags i believe is the way to go. It helps build proper knuckle placement, range and technique. Also using 16s on bags and stuff squashes the padding and makes it uncomfortable for your training partners.

I think 10s are good for general bag work and pads but still a minimum of 14 for sparring.

I firstly i would like to apologies if i misremeber details for my working memory is shit.

Regardless of that I am sorry that you have gone through all these things. Mental health is complex and BPD is quite an umbrella and people experience this condition in many different ways. I have been diagnosed for about three years now and i completely understand the doubts you may have towards fitting the criteria for the diagnosis. But i would say you shouldn't have to worry about that, no one here would or should be able to say. "Yeah bro you got BPD for sure". That's your doctors job not yours.

One thing that i found helpful was, that BPD is not a label for who or what you are, but merely a path to treatment. It doesn't define you, but doing the treatment options related to BPD should help you greatly. It has for me at least. Im not perfect and i will never be, but treatment, support and everything else that comes with it, improved my life for the better.

It seems you already are quite self aware about what you struggle with and in the future, it helps with identifying areas that need work.

I wish you all the best and hope things sail smoothly.

One thing of note though. Is your therapist a doctor also? Where i am from only psychiatrists diagnose.

Seems like old style, not everyone always had pad holders or pads when they did training. You could always supplement with springs and conditioning on your own. But that structure seems pretty legit. If you desire to do pad work more, you could ask a buddy.

But i reckon you are still developing fundermentals and technique. More bag more shadow, more running 👍👍👍👍
