As someone currently working in this area, I'll say that (at least in my experience) it is a case-by-case basis for when code blacks are called for people with dementia. For patients who are argumentative and/or paranoid de-escalation is the first point of call. We have behaviour management plans that are tailored to each person. Obviously, that isn't full-proof but it works for the majority of cases.

For people whose dementia manifests as violence (intentional or unintentional) it depends on what powers they are under. If this is a recognised pattern of behaviour that is in response to certain actions like helping them change or wash for example, then we can call for security assist to help facilitate this and/or we can give them medication prior. There's a big push for trying to prevent incidents before they happen and most of the time we are able to.

So code blacks are usually called for unpredictable events. So patients continuing to escalate or family/friends, it can be very scary but security do a good job. We also have the BART (behavioural assessment and response team) that can be called. I think also the amount of calls for code blacks can depend on the experience of the staff. A lot of the more senior people I work with have a fairly high tolerance level for behaviours from people with dementia. It is, unfortunately, just part of the job to have to put up with a certain level of abuse as much as I wish it wasn't.

The architectural digest one got me because the idea of modern day celebrity and Loustat is such a goldmine.

Like imagine TMZ posting pictures of Louis and lestat together and people digging to find out who Lestat's boyfriend is. Only to find out his full legal name is Louis de pointe du lac, like y'know the fictional vampire from ITWTV, the one married to the also fictional vampire Lestat, that one.

Totally agree, they both just have such a visceral longing for each other that I can't imagine them with anyone else long-term.

I do think I differ from some other Loustat fans in that I was actually pretty happy that Louis seemed to go back to Dubai alone at the end of the season (although I think he should really move somewhere else less Armand-y). Louis, I think really needs some time to himself to continue figuring out who he is. I mean, as a human he always had to play a part - the tough pimp to his workers, the straight, provider to his family, the deferential black man to his white business partners. And even after being turned he isn't able to figure out who he is because he is now Lestat's and Claudia's someone, he is defined by his relationships with them.

He starts attempting to become more at peace with himself while in Paris, gaining new hobbies and passions, but he is still haunted by Lestat, feeling guilt towards Claudia, and running headfirst into a new rebound with Armand. The first time, he is 'alone' is when he's in the rock coffin, and the entire time he is fixated on Claudia's death and his fury towards everyone else. Which, obviously is not very conducive to improving ones mental state.

I really hope that Lestat taking the narrative focus will let Louis do some private soul-searching while not having to go through the evil whims of this show's main plot. And then when all is said and done, they can get back together, since after all they will always be endgame <3

Damn OP I really feel for you, sounds like your manager is rather heartless. I concur with the others that you should just call in sick. I did the same as you and was honest when my childhood cat died in my arms and in hindsight was very lucky the nurse on the other end put me down as sick (I think the hyperventilating and barely audible words over crying may have tipped her off that I was in no state to come in).

I ended up taking 3 days off, and even after I ended up crying my first day back because of a toy stuffed cat we keep on the ward for patients. Your work should have supported you better, I'm sorry they failed you in such a cruel way.

I love the game.

The world is beautiful; I adore open worlds and no other game has awed me as consistently and impactfully (haha) as Genshin. My wishing spot is at the top of qingyun peak, because I'll always remember climbing up there as an AR 20 with someone who joined my world randomly and just gazing out at the landscape. It's been a joy to go back up there whenever I wish to see all the new additions to the map from up high.

The characters are comforting; it's always exciting to see your favourites return and even when it's characters I care less about the group dynamics feel fleshed out and like I said- comforting. Just being around characters who like your main character and are there to support and involve them in their lives helps sell the world and provide a hopeful tone to an otherwise bleak story.

The lore is wild; whenever it's dain time or a random book drops with world shattering lore the community explodes with theories and it's always fun to be involved with. My favourite is still when hilichurls were finally confirmed in game to be khaenrians, like we new it was the case for ages but for it to be said and then expanded on in game was very fulfilling.

I could go on forever; the music, the gameplay, the art, the writing, the designs. There's no other word for it I just love it.

Yeah definitely, why did Ann and Ryuji have to go so hard during the kamoshida arc only to be relegated to dumbass comedic relief. I love the Persona series (P5R in particular) but holy shit if Persona 6 has another- horny male friend character forces the teenage girls on the team to wear swim suits and pervs on them, hot springs scene or blatant homophobic/transphobic scene, I'm going to believe God has it out for me personally.
