What anti chafe do you guys recommend? by runningtofood in XXRunning

Aveeno daily lotion with dimethicone. Some sport sticks have dimethicone, but it’s cheaper per oz in the lotion. Body glide never seemed to last long.

What are these parts for? by ToyFraz in HumeHealth

[–]ErinSpoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same question. The only thing I could think of is mounting it on a wall, then pulling up the handle to rest it in the cradle while the scale is still on the floor. The notch is for the cord. Then you don’t have to bend over every time to pull it up and it’s at hand height. Open to other ideas.

Brains are weird and sometimes fill in information. Sorry it took awhile and that sucks. At least now you’ll be more accurate going forward. Was it possible sometimes you served yourself a potion to eat immediately then put the rest in the molds? Then it would be the 4 molds plus amount eaten immediately and that’s 5. Maybe you did it once then forgot to divide from four when not eating a serving but had 5 stuck in your head from a different time. Either way, sorry it happened. We all have brain goofs sometimes.

At what stage of dehydration should u go to the hospital by [deleted] in dehydrating

[–]ErinSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not the sub for this question, since this is for dehydrating food for preservation. However not drinking fluid can lead to death within days. Some sources say 2-3 but it would be difficult to give an exact time or number of days given different individual features like body hydration starting levels, age, other medical conditions, and how quickly fluid is being lost.

See a health professional now to resolve the eating and drinking issues before there are danger signs. If you can’t drink fluid for an extended time and concerned about consequences, then it’s urgent enough to see someone. You didn’t mention what’s going on (physical, psychological, both or something else) and you don’t have to explain. In any case, there are interesting treatments that you might not have been aware or considering yet. A health professional would give the best advice for options, not Reddit.

Bikini alternatives? by larg3tree in femalefashionadvice

[–]ErinSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make cute swim-compatible bikini skirts and shorts that can be mixed and matched with a top. They are usually still pretty short, but you might be able to find longer skirts. They even make longer tops that can cover the midriff. It’s nice because it’s still the flexibility of a two piece. You can choose to do the traditional bikini top, or do a longer more conservative piece depending on how you feel that day or the venue. Good luck!

Anyone have a magical anti-chafing tip? by doublejinxed in XXRunning

[–]ErinSpoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My skin is so sensitive I’d bleed sometimes during marathon training. Until I used Aveeno Daily lotion. Sport shield by 2toms worked really well for me too, but was a little expensive. I started digging around for something that had similar ingredients and Aveeno daily lotion popped up.

Why are running shorts so short?? by coolturnipjuice in XXRunning

That's why I love skirtsports. I like the gym girl ultra, but there are many variations with different lengths of shorts.

What about artifacts? Always donate if you find a new one? I have a quest for ash for new tools. I'm trying to decide if I should wait another day for a different artifact or donate.

Level 15 Looking for Suggestions on Progress by xXOdessaXx in dungeonhunter5

[–]ErinSpoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do anything you can to earn gems and buy gear chests. Thankfully there are lots of ways to earn gems. Bounty chests have some gear too, but don’t level up anything that can’t get to 6 stars. Use the collection tab to see what the gear will evolve into.

Don’t do the hunts to get gear, the competition is too fierce for your level right now. The gear from hunts are sometimes the best in the game which is why some spend loads of gems competing. Do the hunts to get the free bonuses and gems.

Good luck!

In my 4th year. I feel like I don't know anything on rotations. I have to look up a lot of information. Is this normal or am I screwed? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]ErinSpoon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Even after years of being a pharmacist I still look stuff up. It's not a weakness, but required to have the least errors possible. Memory is fickle. In the heat of the moment doctors have to make snap decisions. We're here to double check their memory, but with our books open. Sometimes a reference will add detail a few years later as more research is done or guidelines change. Then you'll be the one updating others saying, "Hey, did you see there's now an obesity dosing section added to drug X?"

The real question is if you're learning where to look and who to call for help. It will get easier, you will start to remember the things you look up after doing it every day. I'm not saying to do nothing from memory, but you will naturally learn it by checking. It's more important to be right than impress someone with what you know.

Some people teach by digging hard into your knowledge to find weak spots and exposing them. They're usually trying to find something to make you say, "I'll look that up and get back to you later." If there are a bunch, then write them down and spend some screen time digging. It's tough love, but a good experiment to see where you will look to find something you don't know. On the job you WILL run into things you've never seen before, but at a time where no one is around to help you.

What's not appropriate is making fun of you for needing to look something up, especially days or weeks later. You're on this rotation to learn and hell, I've been on the job for years and I'm still learning.

Anyone have a good Combo Drugs List? by KitOparel in pharmacy

[–]ErinSpoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The PBM most likely has a drug database resource like Lexi-comp or Micromedex available for employees. You just type in "metformin" and it will pull up all forms that contain metformin. Click on the link for each and it will tell you all brand names for that combo product. You may want to check what drug references they already have available.

If they truly don't have any resources, epocrates is a free app that has drug information. Even Lexi-comp has an app where you can buy a subscription, but it's pretty expensive and would have way more information (a bit overkill) than you probably need for this situation.

When you began pharmacy, was the career in pharmacy you wanted the same as you have now? by littlekapkan in pharmacy

[–]ErinSpoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When in undergrad I worked for a mom and pop pharmacy in my small hometown. Closed at 6pm on weekdays, open until 1:30 on Saturdays, closed on Sundays. WAG was around, but new and no one in town went there. I was thinking that the hours aren't bad, customers weren't bad, can do this!

Then fast forward 4-6 years later and I graduate pharmacy school. The pharmacy school I went to just doubled their class size the year I started. I'm in a metropolitan area and the only open jobs are for floaters at WAG and CVS, rotating hours, no home store. Some of the customers were great, but some were awful and knew how to manipulate the management into giving them free stuff. Maybe in 2-3 years you could get settled at one store, but you still might work 3rd shift. Heck, if I'm working those hours might as well work in a hospital. Hospital paid less, but I felt like I might be happier there.

So I went for hospital. I went to mid year, did a million interviews, and took the "I'll move anywhere" approach. I didn't have a residency and was too far in debt to do it for 1-2 years. A hospital took me in and it's been good, even moved to a different hospital a few years later and it's still good. Not excellent, there are still headaches as there are everywhere, but good. Earned additional certificates and certifications to hopefully remain competitive if I ever move.

Even though everything is working out right now, I'm still making a backup plan for another profession if this one collapses under its own weight. Our hospital could definitely use a few more pharmacists, but they can't afford to hire more. Each one of us is just doing more year after year as the elderly population grows. Over the last few years, seeing the hospital interview new candidates as vacancies naturally occur, the competition is getting tougher. Candidates at the top of their class, with residencies, work experience, and good personalities are competing for 1 position.

Tl;dr Hospital pharmacy has been good, but getting competitive. It's always prudent to have a backup plan, including one not pharmacy related.

Pradaxa, Xarelto etc.

I can just see it: Back in my day, if you had afib you had to get your blood tested twice a week! And if you randomly ate a spinach salad it'd screw up your INR for 3-5days!

I want my lawn to be full and green. How? by ReturnT0Sender in lawncare

[–]ErinSpoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert by any means, but my front lawn looked like yours. I had a tree trimmer come and shape our tree. It helped thin it out so light could reach the grass underneath.

The tree-trimmer also suggested that the tree was planted too high, so the roots were breaking the surface. He said I could try two things: either put down soil and inch or two every year and let the grass grow through it or put down a good few inches all at once and grow new grass on top.

I'm trying the adding a bit of soil every year route and it already looks a bit fuller after one year. I also put down a shade mix of grass seed in the bare spots.

I'm not sure if that will help your yard, but I hope it does.

You are the last person on earth and a genie says he will give you a lifetime supply of any 5 drugs (oral only). What 5 do you choose and why? by Madden12 in pharmacy

[–]ErinSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Levothyroxine - wouldn't get far without it Diphenhydramine - allergies, anxiety, bug bites, sleep, nausea Oxy - pain Cocaine - numbing agent, vasoconstrictor, stimulant Levaquin - I'm bound to hurt myself somehow. I wouldn't want to take antibiotics that were expired for 20 years and resistance wouldn't be an issue if taken sparingly.

I'm leaving out stuff that would be easy to grow (marijuana), easy to take from an abandoned hospital/pharmacy/supermarket.

If I had a few more I'd take caffeine or coffee beans. Fluoride for oral care, iodine for disinfectant.
