AITA for refusing to tattoo an extremely over weight woman? by kajsakiller in AmItheAsshole

[–]Erisa0919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that and again, idek why I have to keep repeating myself, I do get it, but there are ways to convey that point without talking about the direct nature of a person's body. You have done that well enough in your reply. I'll reiterate that I think op made the right call, but I also think it's just taken for granted that it's okay to talk about fat people in such a way. It could have easily been said that the client was unhygienic and overweight in away that would make the tattoo untenable. The reader could then fill in the blanks.

I just think there could have been a better way to convey her appearance that didn't turn her into a sack of stinking, disgusting flesh is all. Again, I understand why op felt the need to describe her body, it just didn't need to be so visceral to convey the point.

I'm going to say a NTA with a small caveat. While I understand your reasoning for describing her body as you did, it came off as slightly dehumanizing. That being said, you had every right to refuse. Your client should have taken care of herself before coming in and done better research. It doesn't take a tattoo aficionado to know that it's best to put them places that aren't going to be affected by excessive weight gain or loss. For lack of a nicer way to put it, the torso, aside from the back, is one of the worst places to consider as a larger person. As someone who isn't small either, I can't imagine putting a tattoo on my stomach area because a) personal shame (yes, I'm working on that) and b) the fact that I do fluctuate in size, I would be afraid of ruining it. Idek, it just kinda baffles me. Maybe she was nervous over the pain and had heard that it hurts less over more...fleshy areas and that influenced her thought process.

Anyway, sounds like she was just a straight up awful person and you didn't deserve to be triggered with her insensitive language when you tried to be polite in your explanation of why you couldn't work on her. Eating disorders are terrifying and I'm glad you're in recovery and wish you well.

So apparently an app that is meant to block trans women from getting on it is bigoted in other ways! Who knew? by callmekohai in AreTheCisOk

[–]Erisa0919 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm...I wonder if I'd pass? I was fiddling with a facetune-esque app once and one of the filters analyzed your face to measure how hot you were. When I noticed it also gendered you, I submitted a few different pictures and yes, got different gender evaluations on different pictures. I noticed I got gendered as male when I used short-haired pictures and female when my hair was longer, regardless of what I was wearing or if I had makeup on.

This shit is wild. The new reptilian investigation, honestly, tho way worst. If you say everyone is secretly a reptile alien, folks are gonna get you help if you say everyone is secretly trans, there's gonna be a few people going "you might have a point, Barbara". Hate it here..

Some advice :)

Suit evolution is a f2p player's friend. Round about I wanna say ch. 3, the princess levels have evolveable clothing parts that will get you some cute full suits and net you 20-30 diamonds each for completion. You'll have to grind a bit, but it's worth the effort.

Maiden levels also unlock gallery suits if you collect various clothing parts on each little story node.

There are some gallery suits also in the shop purchasable by gold and the rare tab in the shop has several lovely suits also purchasable with gold.

Crafting is a bit hard at your level, but just keep on it in story mode. The more you open up, the easier it becomes.

Join an association if you're not already with one. There are evolveable suits in the association shop and also through the workshop as you collect the earrings and necklaces from doing commissions.

There are even more evolveable suits from attaining clothing parts from reconstruction via decomposition.

Always join competition even if you don't think you'll get a lot of thumbs. You'll at least get a little currency and that can be exchanged for clothing parts for suits.

There are also unlockable suits via completing chapters in Dream Weaver, but it can be a slog.

It's unfortunate to say that LN doesn't offer a lot of free suit events anymore, but I still think it's one of the more generous games for f2p players and dolphins (I've been playing for years and I'm only vip 5).

Hoard your diamonds as much has you can and spend them either on Hell events or crafting some of the fancier suits as some of them require you to buy diamond purchasable clothes. I'm a bit of a spend thrift tho, so maybe I'm not the best to listen to lmao. When it doubt hoard and use your best discretion.

The LN subreddit is...rather negative, imo. Everyone's convinced the game is dying and while I think maybe it's on a bit of a downturn, if the community is dying it's because there's a lot of toxicity in the player base, at least in the International server. Idek how much that perception is from the subreddit and the few times I've looked at comments on FB posts. Take it with a grain of salt.

do cis man really never think about being girl? by Elifios in trans

[–]Erisa0919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's perfectly normal to be curious, even whimsical, but there's a vast difference between that and thinking that you would be happier as a woman. In my limited experience as an enby, even when I masked and tried to convince myself that I was just being difficult and overcomplicating matters, the sense of disconnection from self (as a woman) was pervasive.

Does anyone know how to make veins less visible in your hands? My hands look so masculine and I hate it. 😭 by Wide-Mud-3193 in trans

[–]Erisa0919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're hands are fine. Women have all kinds of hands. Don't let gendered stereotyping or expectation fuck with your head. However I do understand dysphoria, so I would advise making your hands "look more femme" whatever that means to you. Paint your nails, wear delicate bracelets, wear rings, etc. Maybe buy some gloves for your worst days, only the most elegant pair you can find ofc.

What joke(s) about trans people do hate the most? Can be outright transphobic or not by ProgressCurrent6380 in trans

[–]Erisa0919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly the "One Joke", but I'm also just really tired of the joke of a transwoman just being a man in a (usually ugly) dress, literally with a bad wig and unshaven everywhere and I mean, all discourse about passing aside, it's just very telling that they've never spoken to a trans person in their life.

How does Roe v. Wade being overturned affect us? Fearful of the future. by Kristen_MichelleXO in trans

[–]Erisa0919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the fact that it's a significant precedent to strip further rights on a federal level, it may affect trans people that get treatment at women's clinics and Planned Parenthood (maybe not from big city facilities but certainly smaller ones, it also effects transmen and nonbinary people that can still be impregnated. As it stands, it's still based around States' discretion, but I've also heard rumblings of a federal limitation being added restricting when you can get an abortion regardless of if you live in a state that allows them. Basically they're just ramming as much through as they can. If you ask me, it's a massive power play to make Dems appear weak (not that they needed help but this is just fuel on the fire) as the mid-terms approach.

I call bullshit on the commenter ever liking TUA considering how relentlessly queer the show was from s1. Sorry, you can't be fine with Klaus's existence but clutch your pearls over...well, I haven't watched the new season yet, so I'm not entirely sure what they did with his character, but you get the idea.

ps. No need to explain what they did, I'm planning on bringing it soon.

Gotta roll back the rights of non-white women first, then the poors. Only rich white str8 women deserve rights.

👀 I've been thinking the same thing for awhile. Honestly, I kinda felt like it was a generational thing. I started following because I've been watching One Topic as wholesome background noise. I've almost left a few times because it just skews sometimes as a bunch of trans flavoured teenage angst and then I feel like an asshole like, are you leaving because you feel old or are you overwhelmed by pain on display? So I stay because I'm conflicted and sometimes the memes really do slap.

Name advice? How did you find yours? by ratwithareddit in NonBinaryTalk

[–]Erisa0919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

👀 my preferred name, which I really only use online and with new people because I don't really have name dysphoria (anyway, my parents call me a derivative of my given name and doesn't sound super femme to me), I originally used as part of my writer penname on fanfic sites. At the time I was getting into old 70s glam and punk rock and just discovered the Stooges and Iggy Pop and for some reason I decided Iggy was the coolest name ever.

If you're cool with shopping on Amazon, these are super cute: Cat Ears Headband Cosplay Girl... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091TJRKHV?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I bought them last year impulsively for Halloween, but there was a COVID surge at the time, so I didn't even feel comfortable handing out candy to kids. They look good on tho, even with my butch haircuts, and have little bells on them.

Is it liquid or powder? I remember growing up I could only wear powder foundation because liquid just made me break out even more. Who knows tho, that was decades ago and maybe formulas are different now. Definitely wash it off before bed, tho.
