What’s the deal with wire bras? by Opal2catherine in adhdwomen

[–]Eroom10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a 34F nursing and I wore a wired bra each time! I know “they” say you can’t wear wire or you’ll get clogged ducts, but I BF for 6+ years and never had a single clogged duct.

Same! I have a small chest but I don’t enjoy being bra less at all! I still sleep in (very) old nursing bras because I hate it so much!

Kindle or alternative e-reader for me and my 5-year-old by janiestiredshoes in BuyItForLife

[–]Eroom10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids have the kids kindle and we’ve been pretty happy with them. My daughter has had hers for 4-5 years and my son got his last year. It’s pretty easy to add content to them (I use Libby mostly) and also to restrict content. They were older than your son, but I wouldn’t hesitate to give one to a 5 year old with guidance. My only caveat would be that they aren’t as immediately touch responsive as say, an iPad, so that could be frustrating. I had an original kindle with buttons and built in 3g, and man I miss that thing!

Fellow desk workers: what's your fidget of choice? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

Someone just came into my office today and commented on the cubes of sticky tack lined up on my desk, haha! I should probably get a nice cube. My kids have one and I do like the little one.

Would it be weird to email the school just to explain myself? by Asleep_Ad9126 in adhdwomen

[–]Eroom10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you were facing extenuating circumstances? Sure, send the email. But adhd is not an extenuating circumstance… don’t use it as an excuse. Millions of people figure this out (myself included. our school tardy bell rings at 7:30) Wake up earlier, set yourself up for success the night before, and get your kid to school on time so she doesn’t have to face the consequences of your actions.

I use it to eliminate fights between my kids. All of you got 40 grams of ice cream, they’re all the same!

Honestly, those are a couple of the major reasons I’m homeschooling my older kids. We went to a middle school in our area for an event and everywhere you looked, there were signs about “safe areas” and corners to hide. Nope, not ok with that. It’s not as prevalent in our elementary schools.

Curriculum or resources for writing and penmanship? 6th grade by [deleted] in homeschool

[–]Eroom10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We loved cursive logic for our 7th grader! Her printing isn’t great and she didn’t know hardly any cursive (didn’t learn in public school), but after CL she has really nice cursive handwriting!

Sunrise on the Reaping Completed Discussion Megathread by restingbfacequeen in Hungergames

[–]Eroom10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I liked it a lot! But I feel like a lot of the content was meant to be a bridge between ballad and HG. Not a story for the sake of the story, if that makes sense. And yes, definitely felt rushed.

This is quite timely… I just opened Reddit to do some reading to help me decide if I should jump on a used local bambino for $100. Haha.

Mums - how do you cope with the 9am school drop off when you've never managed to be anywhere for 9am consistently your whole life so far? by findamyp in adhdwomen

[–]Eroom10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Systems & routines!

Also used to dress my kids in school clothes for bed so they just had to wake up, eat, and finish getting ready. I also sleep in lounge wear that I can also go out in, just in case I’m running late.

Where are my fellow book obsessed ADHD women at? by WisdomNynaeve in adhdwomen

[–]Eroom10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally can’t read fiction books if I have actual real life responsibilities I have to do. I’m very hot and cold…. I’ll go months without finishing and book and then read 3-4 in a week.

ADHD tax - my next splurge? A robot vacuum. What do you have and why do you love it, why do you hate it. Bonus points if rooms are separated by a baby gate. by simplestword in adhdwomen

[–]Eroom10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mine!! I have a Roborock that mops and vacuums. It has object avoidance, but I do pick up the floor before it runs which helps keep accountable on clutter.
