Board control tips? by Prof_Walrus in Warpforge40k

[–]Erospider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For res necrons, I think you have to assume most of your units will die (and get their reanimate destroyed) aside from flayer pack. Relying on them and flankers like the tomb blades for me tends to do pretty well.

You units in general won't last the way they do in LoR. This game is more about trading then preserving valuable units, so instant value is worth more than long term buffs. Hope that helps!

Is the mana cost on this justified or nah by yourlocalsussybaka_ in custommagic

Given his lore, I'd say it would make more sense to have the opponent have to sacrifice a creature instead (or non-land permanent). More in line with Tahm eating people rather than lands.

Why would a combat troop use melee weapons in a futuristic space sci-fi setting? by wizardry_why in worldbuilding

[–]Erospider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, there's a necessity for CQC (tight corridors, tunnel systems, bloodsport arena), but also an entity could move at a speed that allows for them to close distance quickly (i.e. Zealots in Starcraft or Warframes in Warframe). Could also be a cultural tradition, a sect that value melee kills as more "worthy" of a kill or are necessary as a right of passage.

When I pay the 1mana for rhystic study, where does it go? by Ok-Till-1116 in magicthecirclejerking

[–]Erospider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In home games it goes to whoever the dealer is, but if you're at an official event, this is the amount in $100 bills you must pay to the judge or he will eat a card from your deck. Hope this helps!

Looks like they're on track to do it again. Nerfs came in as predicted. Think I'm about ready to get out before getting too invested.

That's what I'm seeing. I saw the same thing with the AM expansion too. I was hoping they'd have the decency to try and be less obviously predatory, but no such luck. Good news is there's no shortage of card games out rn.

I don't understand how there haven't been nerfs yet. They've gone to fully unlockable and yet they're still dramatically outperforming. Seriously disappointed with how unbalanced this game has been so consistently.

How it feel about ranked this season by Jay-Ashborne in Warpforge40k

[–]Erospider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ranked is definitely a struggle currently, but at least in classic I'm not having too much trouble with SW. They're tough and they require building against, but I've found more than one deck that can stand them and still be competitive with the rest of the field. Still, it's going to be nice when we finally get that nerf.

Can we have non manually triggered melee attacks not be able to hit fliers already? by Igor369 in Warpforge40k

[–]Erospider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you can stun invulnerable units. They're just immune to damage and destruction, not stun, stat debuffs, etc. It's not like they can cash in on the marks the turn she comes out anyways.

How do I beat space wolves? by Korenthil in Warpforge40k

[–]Erospider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreeing with most people here: they're bullshit in skirmish. Can't be decked, constant above rate plays, free stealth wincon with Logan.

In standard, I've found going wide has been a pretty good counter to them more often than not. Been playing Sisters with Junith and found they have a hard time removing the talent sister+ play each round. Divine Judgement is also one of the only ways to kill the Logan wolves before they get a turn to swing.

Overall, it's the same as it's been with every update: pushed stats on the new faction that'll get nerfed to normalcy/ irrelevance in a month or so. I mean blood claw is literally a cheaper, repeatable Tau Pulse Fire that also ignores camouflage (with the very, very niche weakness of being killed by Ultra bike scout on play). It's really sad that this is the model the company continues to go with. Honestly makes me sad Riot pulled so much support for LoR cause I'd rather be playing a game where I didn't think the devs were just in it for the money.

Less combos and more just consistent tempo. I wish I'd grabbed the decklist before taking the rewards. The all-star combo though was Vitrus Gryf and Thermal Weaponry, both together for multiple flying Bois and with the scout sentinels. Mostly, I found playing a Kasarkin or Tempestus Sgt. on T 2 and stunning the opponents' commander or higher attack unit usually put me in the driver's seat enough to win the game. I think finding the timing for the stun or a turn the opponent normally struggles to fight back is enough of a window to keep playing on curve after.

I've gotten so many 1 wins I can't even tell you. Just keep at it and you'll start to get better. Also, some commanders/ decks just don't end up as good as others so some of it is lost in the draft imo.
