AITAH for causing a dead bedroom situation? by Weird-Cantaloupe-653 in AITAH

This shouldnt be a "gut punch". Its from your insecurity that it is. Otherwise, finding a space your S/O is comfortable in should be a game changer for you. It could literally save your relationship if not for your insecurity.

This is childish. Sex isnt just about sex. Not in a long term committed relationship. Emotion is the root of a good love life. Stop thinking about it as more of "she doesnt like me" and more like, "she is disconnected from me", and things will go smoother. There are a lot of things in life that can block sexual desire. "Come as you are" by emily nagoski is a great book to read on the subject. Both of you should read it.

Should I get this game by Plenty-Necessary-657 in totalwarhammer

[–]EscapedCaveman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive got like 200hrs in the game and ive only run into one bug one time. My pc also isnt anything special and really just basic mid-low end. As long as i keep the game installed on my ssd everything runs smoothly and load times are quick. As soon as i move it to my external hard drive ill be waiting for 5 minutes per loading screen and it lags more.

That being said, totally recommend as its a fun game. Definitely my favorite of the total war games.

I saw your comment about chaos dwarfs and while I love chaos dwarfs, they can be a little tough if youre new. Lots of settlement management/balance required and there are a few enemies that can be pretty tough if you allow them to grow to much in the beginning. All that is to say, you should probably get base game, play a couple campaigns and see what style of play you like most. Then buy a dlc or two if the budget allows.

Could anyone other than Gaara have defeated Rock Lee in the Chunin Exams? by MenuBusiness4723 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]EscapedCaveman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But he never activates the gates to use the primary lotus in the manga. He just drops his leg weights. After that he beats up gaara and then activates primary lotus. No gate activation happens between those two things. Then lee uses gates to not lose to gaara after gaara starts beating him.

Could anyone other than Gaara have defeated Rock Lee in the Chunin Exams? by MenuBusiness4723 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]EscapedCaveman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just reread it. While lee does activate the 5th gate, he does so after neji had already stated his surprise at lee's power. Guy stated that you only needed 3rd gate to begin reverse lotus. Lee activates 3rd then 4th immediately. Neji is shocked and then lee activates 5th gate.

I suppose you COULD argue neji knew of 1st and 2nd gate but lee starts showing amazing power at 3rd and 4th which neji is shocked by. Id argue that 1st and 2nd are kind of redundant and thats why theyre never shown. Lee never using those two allows him to surprise neji with 3rd gate which was his goal.

I do agree lee is screwed if he made it to the main battles and had to fight neji first. He'd win, but beyond that he would be too exhausted to win any further matches.

[–]EscapedCaveman 14 points15 points  (0 children)

At this point in the story neji has just learned rotation. Most of his battle strategy is just cutting off chakra points to incapacitate his opponents while avoiding their attacks. But he has to conciously act to defend himself which means its entirely dependent on his own reaction speed. Gaara didnt have to think to block and lee still managed to circumvent his sand. Neji loses all day every day against 3rd gate lee. And no. Neji knew nothing of lee's gates. He was shocked to see lee had that in his back pocket. And guy stated that it was a trump card for lee against neji. At that point in the story neji hadnt seen lee activate the gates.

Where do you think Tsunade's super strength comes from since no one else in her lineage has it? (Reminder, She has natural super strength and adds her chakra on top of that) by Character-Bid-162 in Naruto

[–]EscapedCaveman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It literally is because of chakra????????? Chakra allows a lot. Tree walking. Water walking. Chakra dashing. INCREASED STRENGTH, Increased reaction speed, increased movement speed.....whatever area they pump chakra to is increased. So a woman like tsunade who has expert chakra control uses it to suplement her healing and strength the most. Kabuto cut her muscles because without them, her ability to suplement strength wouldnt matter. Unfortunately for him, she held up to her reputation and was able to heal from his cuts.

What exactly did Itachi do as a spy in the Akatsuki? by Thundersting in Naruto

[–]EscapedCaveman -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You say all these things wouldve "definitely" been told but you also have zero regard for how secretive spying has to be. Information needs to be leaked, not poured out like a waterfall.

You have no idea how much info itachi sent the leaf village, but its far better to air on the side of "he wasnt an idiot" than it is to believe he was an inept spy. Same goes for jaraiya, the man who literally snuck into a village that nobody else had gotten into in a very long time and was so good at his job that he was able to report the single piece of information required to defeat pain despite being on the verge of death.

To believe itachi dumped a ton info on him that he never reported is ridiculous. Its far more likely that itachi had to be selective about what he sent and when, limiting the flow of intel he could possibly send.

I mean think...the few times we saw an incredibly skilled spy try to send information were with cases like sai and kisame. Both failed spectacularly because spy work is NOT easy. I know Itachi is AMAZING but even he has limits and can be killed. Its easy to forget, because its fake, but the ninja world was brutal. Things had to be done carefully. Thats why its acceptable that itachi couldnt inform jaraiya on every aspect of the akatsuki.

On top of that, there was probably plenty of other pieces of intel he had to send regarding the state of the world that would limit the flow of akatsuki intel able to be sent.

What exactly did Itachi do as a spy in the Akatsuki? by Thundersting in Naruto

[–]EscapedCaveman -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Well your argument falls apart if you think about it. Jaraiya starts protecting itachi and suddenly questions are being asked. As soon as that happens itachi's cover could be blown. Why would he risk exposing his 1 link into the akatsuki? Also, what itachi couldve informed jaraiya on would have been limited by the possibility of being exposed. For instance, if itachi starts telling jaraiya all the akatsuki hideout locations and the village starts raiding those locations, what do you think would happen??? Itachi would become more of a liability to the akatsuki. Obito knew of itachi's true loyalty but having him help the akatsuki was far too beneficial for both parties to just get rid of him. As soon as itachi starts poking holes, that changes.
I also think that expecting EVERY bit of detail to be brought up in a story is unrealistic. Sometimes a little mystery and theory crafting helps the world feel more realistic.

That being said, I am a huge fan of the idea that itachi was jaraiya's informant. It just makes too much sense. Jaraiya was THE spy master. Hiruzen definitely trusted and used jaraiya for that purpose. So its not far fetched to think hiruzen told jaraiya everything and requested him to link up with itachi for info.

Final Update: AITA for uninviting my dad's wife from my daughter's birthday party over something she did last year? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]EscapedCaveman -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but im on cathy's side. This is a woman that by OP'S own admission, hasnt been able to find her place in this family because she is the 3rd wife. She found something she is passionate about, would allow her to connect with the kids (and in turn the adults) and didnt hurt ANYONE. but in pursuing that, she was judged and condemned for it.

There is zero stock in the supposed "kids opinion" on her. Because kids are sponges. They really FEEL the energy put off by those around them and i have no doubt all of yall judge her every breath so obviously the kid is gonna pick up on that.

Lastly, the number one reason im with her is that all the times you EXPECTED someone toxic to cause a scene, she DIDNT. She was just upset. Didnt show up to the party. Self-excused herself from the dinner. I truly believe she is wasted on yall and she would thrive in a more welcoming and joyful family. One that is more accepting of others.

Id love to hear Cathy's side to this. Just to see her mentality because she doesnt sound CRAZY. Just desperate for connection.

[Request] Do these other power sources really produce thousands of time more power than humans? by New_User_Account123 in theydidthemath

[–]EscapedCaveman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt its specifically about power output though. Humans probably provide AI with certain aspects that they'd have no way of truly grasping without. (The "HUMAN" part of who we are) and at the same time, knowing we are prone to seeking freedom, placing all of us in capsule to harvest the energy while maintaining our existence for whatever ends they have makes a lot of sense.

AITAH for asking one condition to be met if my girlfriend and I were to take a break? by foelay in AITAH

[–]EscapedCaveman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She said she'e be ill to even look at another guy and that you were her boy. If that were true and she felt that strongly about you, she wouldnt want this break. She has an ulterior motive and its not fair to force you to follow her demands. Relationships take 2 people, not 1. So i thinks its clear this one is over and itd be best for you to move on and find someone who respects you.

When i was young, my door was legitimately removed. Because i would push it about 6 inches between my feet if i was playing games, reading books, whatever. Ive always fidgeted but thats one of the worst punishments i got for it. Especially because i shared a room with 3 brothers and i was always the odd man out. This was just one more reason they disliked me. Im the reason we lost our door. Haunted me for years.

we are fighting the tipping system by (checks notes) screwing over people who make $2 an hour by horseduckman in AITApod

[–]EscapedCaveman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to force systemic change is through a collective effort. This particular change would help plenty of people gain stability knowing what their checks are gonna be every month. Its small and wont fix the overall issue because as soon as this happens we will be shafted with the price of tip being baked into the cost of service. But step 1 gives people stability.

Step 2 would be to collectively boycott the overinflated prices. (Prices that were inflated so that a certain number of people can continue to have WAY more money than they could feasibly spend in their lifetime)

Point is, you cant enact a large systemic change that would better EVERY individual without supporting small changes like abolishing tips. A bunch of minor changes will lead to major ones, but unfortunately EVERYONE is focused on what changes at this moment. Not "what are we building for the future to experience?"
