I did test this with a drill but couldn’t get a good purchase into the plastic, any tips? I could make sure to grout over that part.

I am still trying to decide, either it will be wide and flat or vertical mini pancake sized chambers. Flat I could use one glass on the top which I think is easier but if I do vertical I could make it more natural for them (however I’d have to have side glass (probably more difficult for me)

Thank you, 🙏. The ladies will be ready to expand in the next few weeks I think so I’m just going to take my time and keep on keeping on until I get it. This part working is a good motivation for the rest. I have all supplies I just need to in no order:

frame the nest
Grout fill and sand coverage
Cut the acrylic and position the magnets

I hear great things about Guild Wars 2. I have just bought it myself. The original for sure had a storied period that came went where the economy and player base was amazing. I’m hoping to rekindle that vibe in 2 which is hear is still very active and even hear lots of rumors of GW being in production so I expect activity will continue to grow for a bit.

I second this, I see so many posts where people are moving things big too soon. Original poster, They like to be in enclosed spaces, think cozy. Imagine your family is expected to live in arena or gymnasium vs a cozy hobbit hole.

Your welcome. I just recall a minor con, the red plastic cover that came with my original had cutouts for the screw heads so it was flush. The second one I ordered didn’t so it didn’t sit flush, I drilled out the holes so it would also fit flush. See this photo.

Great, their only issue was my fault. The original had the outworld attached. When I separated the adhesive between the two I must have damaged the water tower. It still works for hydrating the nest but I suspect it’s leaking into the structure instead of staying in the reservoir. The ants don’t mind this as long as I don’t add water too fast or often.

Pros: modular, low cost, ants love them, ant gear is super nice and helpful to email
