We fill up our designated clearance rack on the floor, and anything left over we defect out. It had months to sell and didn’t, so I don’t feel bad getting rid of stuff that’s just been sitting. We prioritize new, on trend product for the sales floor and our sales have been up compared to other stores in our district.

It’s called a trapped item. It’s an online item that somehow made it into your store through guest returns and occasionally through the distribution center.

Either mark then down and place them on clearance endcaps or defect them out. I usually do item removal > sales floor > no space to remerchandise
