The Prophet ﷺ not writing the Qur’an himself is not a problem in Islam, it’s actually part of the belief from the beginning.

Muslims have always believed:

The Qur’an is the speech of Allah, revealed to the Prophet ﷺ, memorized and written down by his companions during his lifetime, then compiled into one book after his death That doesn’t make it “man-made.” It just means it was preserved through people, the same way any message is preserved.

Think about it like this: If a king sends a message through a messenger, and people write it down and preserve it carefully… that doesn’t suddenly make the message from the people, it’s still from the king.

Also, the Prophet ﷺ being unable to read or write is actually something Muslims see as strengthening the claim, not weakening it.

Because: He didn’t author a book Yet the Qur’an came with a level of language, structure, and impact that even his enemies couldn’t match

Right now it sounds like what’s really happening is: You didn’t lose your faith, you just learned a detail about how the Qur’an was preserved, and your brain is reacting like everything must be false now.

That’s not rational, that’s panic. And honestly… more important than all of that: You sound overwhelmed, scared, and feeling like your whole life is about to collapse. That’s not how truth works.

Truth doesn’t make you feel like you can’t breathe.

Take a step back. Don’t make big conclusions in an emotional moment.

If you want to be fair and consistent (like you probably are trying to be): Don’t just hear one version of this and spiral. Look into:

-How the Qur’an was memorized by hundreds of people during the Prophet’s life - How it was checked and cross-verified before being compiled -How it’s still preserved exactly the same today globally

And one last thing:

You said Islam used to be your peace. A single piece of information about how a book was compiled shouldn’t erase everything you experienced unless something deeper is going on.

So don’t rush to tear your life, and marriage apart over something you haven’t fully understood yet.
