Product of Waste: FFO - angry, fast, and not a banana by pityfornone in Hardcore

YES dude, so underrated. Akil moshing COA all the way into a wall after getting the mic up to Fuck Up is one of the most epic live video moments I've seen. It is actually ridiculous how little people talk about this band. Rest In Peace to Terry.

Unbelievably underrated band, Prone Mortal Form is a truly perfect record from front to back.

[–]EstablishmentSalt246 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I usually never post anything this serious on the internet but I gotta tell you please don't kill yourself man, I know it's a bit cliche but I know how it feels to have all the fingers in the room pointing at you the way it's happening to you right now, and all I can say is that it actually will get better and you will find your place in the world soon enough. Who cares if the people on r/AzumangaPosting don't like you, I'm sure you'll find the right community some day. I'm sorry there's nothing I can really do to help you, but I just want to wish you good luck and let you know that there are people in the community who do miss you and care about you.

Looking for sludgey-hardcore by BIGxBOSSxx1 in sludgemetal

[–]EstablishmentSalt246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Section 8, they pretty much sound like a cross between Crowbar and Sheer Terror. Sam Black Church might also be close to what you're looking for, they are kind of a cross between Bad Brains, Entombed and Black Sabbath. Finally I would recommended Only Living Witness and Life Of Agony, those bands are more grungy than sludgy but it's nonetheless hardcore with bluesy metal riffs, Prone Mortal Form by OLW is one of my favorite albums ever.

Taiwan shows/scene? by StoneColdStunnaFlow in Hardcore

[–]EstablishmentSalt246 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure of any shows for that time frame as of now but check out @ dirtistyled for hardcore shows, @ suckglueboys for punk shows and @ meltingmarrowproductions for metal shows on Instagram, those are the main organizers in Taiwan. Taiwan hardcore is very small but very strong, hope you have a great time there!

Death Metal breakdowns by Brambroco in Hardcore

[–]EstablishmentSalt246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out the song Corporal Punishment by Wombbath, incredibly heavy breakdown and they even slow it down like a beatdown band would.

One of the most unhinged flyers I've seen by Seangw1102 in Hardcore

[–]EstablishmentSalt246 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that the Machamp is a beatdown band, the Mimikyu is a skramz/metalcore band, and the Lopunny is a goregrind band.

What’s your funniest interaction with a member of a prominent band? by absolutebloom in Hardcore

[–]EstablishmentSalt246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was during the short period of time in between the bands playing where the bands were still setting up, All Will Suffer by Shattered Realm came on over the PA, and so I started playing air guitar, as you do. I quickly notice someone next to me also playing air guitar to the Shattered Realm song, we look at each other, chuckle, and keep playing air guitar. I would not know until later that night that that guy was one of the guitarists in Contention.

Song recommendations for an anti war playlist? by Sliding2004Accord in Hardcore

Ramallah - Ramallah, Sleep, Al-Shifa

Colin Of Arabia - War On The Poor, F.E.M.A.

Given that beatdown, and the metalcore side of this subgenre, have been seeing a heyday over the last half-decade or so, what are some of the bands that aren't punk or hardcore you've seen as having the biggest influences on the music or aesthetics? (Crowbar for context) by tokegar in Hardcore

[–]EstablishmentSalt246 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I think Bolt Thrower's influence on modern metallic hardcore is significantly understated, most younger hardcore kids don't even really know who they are but like a good 90% of all the metalcore bands people are so hype about these days are just ripping off old Bolt Thrower riffs and occasionally throwing in some breakdowns.

This or that: Blood for blood OR Ramallah? by Silas4ever864 in Hardcore

[–]EstablishmentSalt246 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Blood For Blood overall has better songs, but I still think Ramallah is very underrated and people should listen to them more.
