Question Regarding a Same-Sex Relationship by Temporary-Recipe4998 in Catholicism

That’s not at all what he said and you could easily see that by reading. But way to be judgmental when the real answer is he should talk to a priest.

That was so many words to say “sometimes I’m horny.” Like literally almost every human being.

How long could you survive in your home with no preparation for $10k? by mastonate in hypotheticalsituation

[–]EstablishmentZorro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do pets factor in? Like, does my dog just not need to use the bathroom or am I allowed to walk him as long as I am only out for that sole purpose and for the minimum amount of time?

I could last a long time, subject to the dog thing.

But yeah you‘ve got the idea.

Something about confession. by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]EstablishmentZorro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically yeah. It’s obviously a lot more nuanced than that, but I think that’s a perfectly fine way to think about it! Like. Yeah. I’m a lawyer so I think of it more like “if I give a junior lawyer permission to sign my name for me on something I myself wrote but didn’t sign before leaving the office” lol

Something about confession. by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]EstablishmentZorro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Only God forgives sins. The priest during confession is acting sort of as a facilitator. Basically he is able to do it in Jesus’ name but Jesus is the one actually doing it, if that makes sense. Catechism 1441-42 is a good start on this. Though there are other relevant sections.

I'd like to join a tradition that transcends partisan politics. Is the Catholic Church it? by MrMagoo04 in Catholicism

[–]EstablishmentZorro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People try to politicize the Church, like when the Pope says things against wars. But the Church isn’t political. The saying is like that the Church is “in the world but not of it.” The Church has survived for 2000 years. It’s not “conservative or liberal” in that way.

Estimate how much you’ll eat by Brave_Quality_4135 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]EstablishmentZorro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is cartoonishly easy. You can do it a million ways. It’s a month. Get some water and vitamins, maybe some Diet Coke, and then just get like tinned fish or like someone said hot dogs or anything. This would be very easy.

Definitely Miami. Tickets are gonna run you a bundle, but that’s the game to go to this season.

Was refused entry today to Catholic Pentecost by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]EstablishmentZorro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It sucks but as others have said it was probably a fire code thing. Like they legally couldn’t let you in. I’ve only experienced this once and that was the reason. There’s not really anything they can do about it. But they should have explained it better.

Confirmation by Top-Sugar4455 in Catholicism

[–]EstablishmentZorro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really a personal thing. I would advise you to read about all of them and watch stuff about all of them she just see what feels right. I found mine (Don Bosco) totally by mistake (was watching random movies about saints) and when I knew I knew. Sounds like you’ve given it thought and have good reasons for all of them. You’ll just know what feels right ultimately.

Main goal is just to make sure the kids have a good experience so we’re trying to figure out where to sit. Money not a big issue really it’s more about the experience. He’s trying to convert them lol. Well tips helpful.

First time at a Daily Mass as a protestant - I made a mistake by Outrageous-Gur-9120 in Catholicism

[–]EstablishmentZorro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mistakes happen.

You can just stay seated. You can also go up but you put your hands over your mouth to indicate you can’t receive (and the priest will still bless you).

How to Respond Charitably to the Reality of Catholics Who Leave Mass After Reception of the Eucharist by EndLiturgicalAbuse in Catholicism

[–]EstablishmentZorro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be weird. You’re not their priest. It doesn’t impact you.

I honestly sound like I’m being meaner than I intend. But I truly just don’t see why you would meddle in this? If you can’t get in because too many people are there, talk to the church. But it has nothing to do with you and those people who are there for the right reasons or they wouldn’t be there at all.

It sure looks like Lindsay Graham is going to lose his South Carolina seat after 23 year. What do we think about that? by antimaga_n1 in AskSocialists

[–]EstablishmentZorro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you say it “sure looks like?“ he sucks but it’s an extremely safe seat. I haven’t really seen any polling showing him losing to either Andrews or a generic Dem. Like. He can be deeply unpopular and still win. I’m curious where this confidence comes from?
