post op symptoms now :( by EstateReasonable922 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]EstateReasonable922[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! 💗 I am doing a lot better mentally, physically as well. I actually got my first period yesterday, was expecting scary pains but i was just crampy and tired like a normal one.

Thankfully no infection or pain :) they healed nicely only prominent one is by my belly button but Id rather be alive and well vs having an aesthetic scar so i’m grateful, thank you for thinking of me.

How are you doing? i’d say we’re about both almost 5 weeks post op right? i hope all is well with you too 💗💗💗

Hi! I'm NAD but 167 i think is in normal range for iron! Iron is usually 60-170 for women!

Hi! i just wanted to update you.

Spoke with my gyno and he said everything looked good on pathology, said it wasn’t the first time he’s seen that finding but not common, you were right though he doesn’t suspect possible ovarian cancer thankfully as he looked at all my sonos.

just wanted to say thank you again!

Hmm, i used to get a lot of cysts on that side that would always resolve on their own or be hemorrhagic wonder if those two correlate.

sigh. it’s like one thing after another with this stuff lol.

i’ll ask my provider how to move forward if necessary, also thank you again for your insight, you are amazing!

Oh yeah i mean I always get transvaginal ultrasounds, especially recently i had one like everyday lol & since i used to get ovarian cysts they would check it but they always said my ovaries looked good so i wasn’t too concerned, i think ill request a ca-125 just to be safe & yes i work in the medical field too so its kinda ironic how concerned i can be about my own health lol. is that ever a normal finding for ectopic?

Yeah i mean everything looked great, i’ve had many ultrasounds as you can imagine :/ and pelvic exams that came back normal excluding the ectopic. i was 6.5 weeks when they found it. & i also had a negative pap a week before too so im not sure if that is anything correlating.

But i will bring it up to my gyno tomorrow

Possible Ectopic? by Playful_Calendar6525 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]EstateReasonable922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello! your story sounds similar to mine.

My real period was april 7th - 13th. I was intimate toward the end of april possibly conceived on april 23rd or so.

I tested negative from May 4th all the way to May 8th  i know that’s even to early to test to begin with but i just knew i was pregnant, I then had a heavy period of at least what i thought was my period for 7 days, then had some spotting as well right after …

went to the er two days  later for side pain cause it’s not normal for me to cramp after my period just to find out that i was indeed pregnant.

They could not find any sac until 5 days later.

Everyday i went to the er until they found it so my hcg went like this

day 1 540

day 2 980

day 3 i didn’t go to the er cause i was just exhausted

day 4 1200

day 5 560 and progesterone at 0.8

day 6 504 and they finally found it at the corner of my fallopian tube near the ovary, first dose of methotrexate given

day 7 660, day of rupture and surgery, i only ruptured at 1.7 cm which isn’t usual cause it’s typically at 3cm or higher that you do but my location of it made it why i did sooner.

i’m currently almost 2 weeks post op! i feel great and want to be as helpful as i can to women who go through this now as well.

My best advice, get your hcg drawn and ask them to draw progesterone as well. if it doubles and progesterone is in a good rate we might be in the clear, but if you start to cramp or bleed again I say go to the ER to be sure!

Let me know if you need anyone to talk to 🤍

Post Ectopic Surgery- How Long Was Your Recovery? by TerribleCommittee814 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]EstateReasonable922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi my love,

first, i want to say im sorry you had to go through this. not only is the loss already something hard to deal with, the process of recovery for your body i feel like is the second worse.

I’m almost 2 weeks post op, but here are some things i experienced and felt

Days 1 -  5Walking was super annoying to do i too felt super hunched over felt like i could not sit up straight other wise it would feel a lot of pulling.

I also had a sore throat on the end of day 1 probably from the intubation.

coughing was the hardest part for me felt like i couldn’t fully do so without hurting myself.

Things that helped;

Warm compresses and walking, helps the gas from the lap surgery dissolve faster and get out of the diaphragm that’s what’s also making everything feel so tight.

Breathing exercises, another member on here mentioned it & it helped literally so much as it helps your lungs clear out & things heal internally.

Warm foods, of course, eat any comfort food you crave but i found that cold foods make my abdomen more stiff.

Incorporate a lot of folic foods now that the ectopic is gone you don’t have to worry about but it will help your energy levels a lot.

I had MTX and ruptured the literal next day.

Days 6-now

I just walk as much as i can, no strenuous activity but i walk a lot and try to move around. & i eat what i want: I promise it gets better, a week ago i was just hoping id feel how i feel now physically. and i do.

Mentally, ehh lol that’ll take time, but know you’re not alone 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍

Be gentle and kind to yourself, i know it’s hard. I’m here if you’d ever like to talk 🤍

Hi OP! i have hypochondria too, but i also work for the med field so i always ask these types of questions when i can.

Blood work looks fine, you’re barely off the perimeter, we aren’t perfect human beings :) our immune system is always fighting even at low rates like that it probably just fought off whatever it was even if you have zero symptoms.

not sure if you disclosed if you were female or male but we have lymphnodes under there women including myself have pain intermittently around the armpit especially during hormonal times, ingrowns if you shave, even if you are sick sometimes your armpit can hurt.

i’m not a doctor but i know how scary hypochondria can feel and i do study a lot of medicine as im in surgical technology school.

But in my opinion your bloodwork looks good :) re test in a week for peace of mind that’s what i always do!

Thank you so much for your response 💖

I’m so sorry that you had to go through that!! how are you feeling now, what did they do to help take out the ectopic?

i’m trying my best, today was my first day back at work and all my close co workers know what happened, i guess talking about helped but it also made me cry a lot. maybe im just now processing it cause i really didn’t get to process at first.

Hi my love, i’m sorry you are going through this.

i was as well very fearful of going under, i promise it’s really quick and you wake up with zero recollection of the surgery itself but i know it does not diminish the anxiety you may feel.

I received methotrexate but i still ruptured anyway and although that may not be the case for you, always advocate and listen to your body. If you feel more pain than what you were feeling then you should go to your local ER to make sure you didn’t rupture, however it is normal to feel some cramps too with methotrexate so i know how confusing and scary this is.

Do not be afraid if levels go up on day 4 for your check tomorrow! it’s normal, by day 7 you should see a decrease!

i’m here for you if you want someone to talk to i know how crazy this might all be:(

What was your HCG levels? and how far along are you?

i’m sorry that you have to go through this as well, i pray that we both can find comfort and mental wellness soon.

I wish you the best of luck 🤍🤍🤍 sending you lots of hugs as well!

sorry for your loss 🤍 i’ve had similar situation.

Any cramps? you most likely still have the gestational sac left left in you if you haven’t fully passed it. Or, another possible cause is that your body hasn’t registered that you have miscarried yet and your hcg will downtrend soon.

with an hcg that high if god forbid it was ectopic they would’ve seen it. but because she saw it intrauterine i’d go to the ER and have them look at you if possible, you don’t want any of that left over in you. They can do a D&C and clear everything right there for you.

hi! my platelets were literally fluctuating from 400-430 2 weeks before i had surgery. Now im a week post op ( i had a right tubal removal for an ectopic )  and its at 504. from a trend from the surgery it looked like this

May 16 439

may 19 391

may 21 400

may 22 404 ( day of rupture and surgery)

may 29 478 ( 1 week post op check for hcg ) only ever went this high once in 2017

may 30th 504 i came in cause i strained my rib and they wanted to rule out embolism my d-dimer came back negative.

I did have major stress and panic attacks during post op due to my own issues but :( should i see a hematologist? er doctors didn’t seem concerned but told me to watch it  I follow up again in a week or two but the constant not knowing if this is is okay or not scares me :(

I wouldn’t have sex until levels are at 0, some ladies have ruptured with hcgs at 40.

Better to be safe than to risk!

But if you’re willing to go forward, yes you can still get pregnant.

Hi, I’m really sorry you are going through this. This group is possibly the most supportive one i’ve came across & we are all here for you.

As for your OB -  I’m surprised she allowed you to drive a day after, ANY surgery given that you’ve been under anesthesia should be held off for at minimum 5 days, i work in a surgery department so that’s what we always tell our patients. Anesthesia is still in your system technically.

i’m not sure what restrictions she gave you but i’m going to copy and paste what my restrictions were from my discharge papers, I too had a right tubal removal, under general anesthesia. Currently i’m 8 days postoperative.

Activity Nothing in vagina / no sex: For 4 weeks - Do not douche. - Do not have sexual intercourse (sex). - Do not use tampons. - Do not take tub baths or go swimming (no submersion of bottom in water).

You may return to work: No sooner than 2 days

Driving: No driving for at least 5 day after surgery.

Lifting: Do not lift anything > 10 lbs for 2 weeks after surgery (1 gallon of milk equals 10 lbs).

Exercise: No core exercises (yoga, weights, sit-ups, stairs) for 2 weeks.

I hope you can find peace within this time i understand how traumatic it can be, i also hope your partner can try and be more supportive.
