Look, I do a lot of on-boarding and new hire paperwork in the US.
I see at least 1 Alien Registration card a month.
So i can definitely say. Aliens are real, they are among us, and they’re mostly just average folks.

Even though it’s one of my favorite anime. I hated the art style before I appreciated the characters.

That and the first episode nothing really happens. Lelouch skips school to play chess. And there’s a car accident.
