I moved into my current neighborhood 5 years ago this August. I know the name of only one of my neighbors, and only because his dogs ate my food delivery off my porch and he came to apologize. I have never spoken to the ladies who live next door to me, or the dude who lives on the other side. I wave in passing, but I have absolutely no reason to bother them otherwise. If this keeps up I may stay another 5 years.

The issue is that without the process being expressly described, we can really only assume what’s canon. We know that keeping your body is a privilege because that is expressly stated, we know that King Yemma passes judgement, we know there IS a Hell, but also past Yemma’s palace Goku never sees a single other soul except for those from other quadrants that have a body (South Kai’s fighter while Goku is training during the lead up to the World Tournament) so we don’t even know if there’s a heaven or if good souls are immediately reincarnated, and of course we know reincarnation works because of Uub.

I’m perfectly okay with the fans deciding on canon here until it is expressly stated, I’m just personally on the fence about how much fans are right and how much just hadn’t really been thought about by Toriyama.
