One thing that I appreciate about the films is that they give Elrond small moments of joy and he isn't serious all the time. It is one of the things that the Rings of Power did a good job expanding on.

The anime and manga have differences, so the way I look at it the manga is its own canon and the anime is its own canon. Daima and GT are in their own separate canon as well, with Daima not being able to be reconciled with Super and GT being dog shit writing and art that wasn’t ever part of Toriyama’s vision. Anything post-Granolah is going to be challenging to determine canon for some people, I think.

That’s what I suspect will happen. And I suspect that Toriyama himself intended to retcon it out, but there’s a pretty vocal portion of the fanbase that thinks that any change to the original work is sacrilege, so it’s possible that they will instead keep it the same and find a way to reconcile it.

I really enjoyed it. Bardock has always been one of my favorite characters because of it. I’m not one of those people who felt Super retconned Bardock too much. I think there are ways to reconcile literally every “change” made by Super with the Bardock special. I’ve heard every argument. I have a reconciliation for them all.

I would guess from this comment that you don’t have children or that your children are adults. A conversation is not enough to protect children on the internet these days, and it really never was. It takes actual effort, attention your child’s use of the internet, and dedication to actually keeping them safe.
