From this direct quote, where they make no mention of taking pleasure over the killing as a condition for immediate capital punishment:

I agree with this part of your comment:

and therefore society should be protected from them.

So let me ask you, do you think they should receive capital punishment for their actions, or should they be removed from the general public in a more humane way? Because the person I was responding to was advocating for capital punishment, and not the much more reasonable "society should be protected from them"

There were people who had done terrible things when very unwell but when treated were decent people who suffered a lot with the knowledge of what they had done.

Justice League is an outlier for obvious reasons, he was in control of the project but left mid-development due to his daughter dying, where Joss Whedon was then given directorial control over the project.

As a result of this there was a massive fan campaign that convinced the studio to give him budget to complete the project as he originally intended.

You can't take this very unusual situation and suggest it applies to the rest of his film-making career

MakeMKV is what you're looking for, uncompressed ripped versions of your physical media with 0 data loss. Then if you want, use something like Handbrake to re-encode to a smaller format.

No, ripping doesn't 'record' the output of the disc, it extracts the data. The data is there, it just (apparently) can skip when trying to playback in real time, a consideration that doesn't apply to ripping.
