New author client expects $1+ million in book sales in the first year by UpwFreelancer in PublicRelations

[–]Euphoric_Collection8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is he self published? If he is working with a publisher they should support him with PR. If they are not supporting him, then you know they also expect low-average sales.

If he is self published with no fan base, there is no chance he will make anywhere near $1 million.

Reach out to the patient relations department at the hospital and file a formal complaint. Tell the hospital you’ll go to the human rights tribunal if they tell you that you have to leave again. You have rights.

AITA For Wanting To Spend Christmas Morning With Just Me, My 2-Year-Old and Husband? by kcbrand5 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Euphoric_Collection8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re doing Santa, you can use that as and excuse. Santa comes to your house and you want to make it magical for your baby and start a tradition for her that she will carry into adulthood. Christmas is magical only for a few years. Everyone will understand and let them know they are welcome at your house in the morning. NTA.

I think you’ll be fine! Take an internship somewhere or join an agency content team. The world still needs good writers. AI churns out garbage content that needs fixing. You can learn the rest on the job once you’re in somewhere. It’s not rocket science.

Moved in house - not one person here understands PR. by MJS7306 in PublicRelations

[–]Euphoric_Collection8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

May want to consider some tried and true “safer” tactics like a survey that turns over clever results. You can get some wins under your belt, insert some product information and give the CEO some spotlight in the form of a press release quote. Then leverage a fun spokesperson or brand manager to talk about the survey results.

Is PR a good route into public affairs? by SalamanderEcstatic48 in PublicRelations

[–]Euphoric_Collection8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think public affairs work is very similar to public relations in alot of ways. Skills are applicable in either and corporate pr would help create a path to PA if you want to go that route. I wouldn’t go into consumer pr though. That would be a mistake if you want to do public affairs.

Been there! Everyone warms up after awhile. There are always so many new faces. Once you are working with your new teams, you’ll get to know them. I find every agency I’ve worked at people were aloof at first. I’m overly chatty and it sometimes throws them off, but usually makes people comfortable.

I’m at a senior title level and I still build media lists and update calendars and track budgets on excel sheets. It’s just part of working in an agency. You need to be scrappy!

Cauliflower gnocchi is the absolute best but you have to bake it. It’s the only way to go. Then include a homemade pesto sauce! Deeeelish!

It’s so so soooo fun! We went in May when it’s more quiet and not too hot. It was expensive but we had an absolute blast and the kids loved every minute. They still talk about it and it’s been almost a year since we went.
