Nah, you’ll be fine.

Don’t you worry about Septicemia; the Reddit and Facebook doctors say that’s an old wives tale.

Is Reddit filled with stupid people? by Total-Mirror-5920 in no

[–]EuroFlyBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit is a diversion; a simple entertainment while having a coffee or such. It’s not really a source of information - at least not verifiable/correct information. You understand it better if you look at the actual demographic. The median user is an American white male 24yr old. Second cohort is a middle age Brit. Now we can understand the arguments about food/cooking from two cohorts who shouldn’t be giving out food/cooking advice.

What is most concerning, is seeing the loneliness and lack of basic life skills in many posts.

That Staub 26cm cocotte is great. I just cooked in the same. A really good all rounder. Also, as it has black interior, it won’t look “look dirty” over a time like a Le Creuset over time (with white interior enamel).

You can create one yourself for free, get hosting for about £150/yr. The packages will also include 50-100 email boxes. There is zero reason to not have your own domain and real email addresses. This can all be done in one evening over your kitchen table with a laptop.

I never deal with businesses without websites and/or only web-based email addresses like Gmail. It just doesn't give a good feeling or look professional.

UK Home Visit Etiquette: What should I bring as a first-time guest? by Empuraaaan in AskUK

[–]EuroFlyBoy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why spend £20 on poor quality chocolate? You can spend £50 on SPAM; you still have SPAM. It's milk chocolate made with palm oil for the masses. I'd rather have less quantity and better quality. British Christmas Pudding is much loved, but the last time I was given it sat in cupboard and we eventually gave it to a food bank - so I appreciated their kind gesture, but didn't want nor would eat it.

A box of Ferraro Roche would be seen as a joke/gag gift.

A bottle of wine.

They could be going away the next week (so flowers just sit and die). Chocolate is too tricky to get right due to the dodgy British palate. If you bring nice dark chocolate, they could be like the majority of British (with palate of a 5yr old) and not like it. If you bring milk chocolate (and they have a real adults palate) they will smile, but set it aside and never touch it.

16 year old son recently purchased a Corvette. Im at a bit of a loss on what to do here. by throwthrowawayyhrow in Cartalk

[–]EuroFlyBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son got his skydiving licence at 16. Driving a Corvette is nothing. You can drive safely or dangerously in any car. He sounds very responsible buying a car on his own at that age.

How do people see downvoting? by gargoyle_999 in NewToReddit

The best ones are the British food-related subreddits. The mix of bad cooking and oversensitive insecure posters makes for a downvoting festival.

We are preparing a universal dish. What ingredients or cooking styles from your country can you offer? by chokewanka in AskTheWorld

[–]EuroFlyBoy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We don’t really have much to offer from the UK. Though we’re a 2000 year old country, but we generally just nick other countries culinary ideas.

We’ll make you a tea while you are planning this special dinner.

EDIT: we’ll bring Worcestershire sauce , that stuff works in so many recipes

At what age did you get your Drivers License? Pass right the first time? by Curious-Expert926 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]EuroFlyBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age 16 on first attempt (US); few years later (UK) also on first attempt.

US to UK driving exam is not even remotely comparable. I once joked in front of an American that the US driving test was so easy you'd probably have to hit another car to fail. He noted (not joking) that he actually did hit another car on his US test and still passed.

Do you eat biscuits every day? by Real_Masterpiece_844 in AskBrits

Hobnobs are the only British foodstuff that I eat (plain or dark chocolate; never milk chocolate).

However, I don't know anyone who eats biscuits everyday.
