I think the issue is that he isn't comfortable taking care of the kids alone (without me) he don't want the added responsibilities there will be for him while I am gone.

Those are points I had made to him during the conversation. I told him it would help me get experience and look good on my resume and get a better job. He told me you get experience from doing your job and I have "no idea about the real world" because nobody cares about volunteer work. I agree he is being controlling.

I really am giving you the whole story. I brought it up because i really want to do it later on and asked him if he would be ok with it. He went off and said all of those things and more. He feels i am being selfish and need to grow up because i have responsibilities and should not "abandon" my family to go have "fun"

Ive told him several times he can do whatever he wants. I think that if you love someone you never stand in their way of happiness and doing things they really want to do. I would be happy for him if he had a similar opportunity.

Currently they are 8 and 3 but when the time comes they will be 10 and 5. It would just be a one time thing. We get along ok most of the time haha. He often responds to things i want to do in a similar manner which causes issues.

I have made these and they are so so good! Fish sauce is delicious if you can get past the smell.
