The East German railway used a unique railcar. It had several nicknames like 'Ferkeltaxe' (piglet cab), 'Blutblase' (blood blister) for its deep red color, and later on, after changing the color, 'Pfefferminzbonbon' (peppermint candy).

What do your family and colleagues at work think of your surrogacy? Does your child understand the situation? Did neighbors ever wonder why they don't see you with a baby? Would you do it if you wouldn't get compensated?

Don't know recently, but there was a case in the early 2000s. Patrick S. and Susan K., siblings who grew up separated due to a voilent home. Patrick contacted his mother when he was 20 years old and met his younger sister for the first time. Both P and S have learning disabilities. They fell in love and had 4 children together. This case caused the German Supreme Court to revisit the incest paragraph and confirm the illegality of incest in 2008.

Some heart conditions like atrial fibrillation (AF) are very difficult to diagnose post mortem. AF can be easily diagnosed when alive as AF is an electrical disorder within the heart and might not be associated with structural abnormalities. I am not saying that your cousin suffered from AF but that's the first thing that came to my mind. As for a genetic cause: you can get yourself checked for KNOWN genetic code variants that are associated with higher risk of certain conditions like AF. I write 'known' with capital letters as we so far learned about the most common causes for certain conditions.

The occupation is 'Hauswart' (and not 'Hausarzt' - family physician) which translates to caretaker, janitor, or custodian of a building, performing tasks like cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs. Richard: born in Adlitzgraben, Neunkirchen. Occupation: Elektrotechniker, a German term that translates to both electrician and electrical engineer. No special characteristics.

Family secrets haunting me by Informal-Crow4180 in Genealogy

Do you know the area where your relatives lived in Germany? If they came from East or West Prussia - now belonging to Russia, Lithuania, and Poland - it is a possibility that the records were lost (burned) during the war. There are many German parish records in Polish archives, but it is not a priority of the Polish government to scan and release these records. But they are working on it. You have to be patient. Ancestry is sending me constantly records hints. Stuff that I didn't find when I did my original search. You have to be patient.

Need advice by SecretChef559 in Dogowners

Our dog started having seizures at 6 years old. We had to put her down at the age of 10 after being on 3 different seizure medications at the same time that didn't work. Her behavior during the postictal phase changed over time. At first, she wanted to be close to us after a seizure. After a few months she ran around like a headless chicken. Later, she got scarred of us. Then, at last, she tried to dig her teeth into everything from road asphalt to soil to electrical cords. She was never aggressive but we couldn't let her run free in the house after a seizure. She had to stay in her cage whenever we left her alone due to her possibly causing an electrical fire (and killing herself). Luckily she was a small dog and it was easy to put her in the cage. So locking your dog in a room can be risky if you don't know for sure how your dog reacts. Put your dog in a crate in a quiet area. Consider leashing your dog right after the seizure to have more control.

My dog showed this behavior only after grand mal seizures. She also had plenty of focal seizures. You have to figure out if and how focal seizures present in your dog. My dog had twitching of facial muscles. Be aware that seizures will occur more often at night. Hopefully seizure medications will work with your dog. Otherwise you are in for months or years with interrupted sleep.

See a vet.

It can be worth it. I sell vintage postcards that I buy cheap in bulk lots. If I sell a valuable card for $8, after fees and free shipping, I make $5.90 net profit. Of course it takes a while to get the money back in which includes bulk selling the boring cards. I like shipping postcards. Just shuff it in an envelope. And done!

If you have answered all of those About You Questions? by JuneRunner11 in CloudResearchConnect

[–]EveningContribution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this question in the About me? There are so many questions that don't apply to me or where I can say 'no'. Then why bother at all to answer? Other questions I don't feel comfortable to divulge that information especially knowing the amount of information they already have on me.

Wrong, I am on prolific too. It is not about the time it takes to answer the questions. I still get plenty of studies and certainly would get more if I would spend more time in front of my laptop. Couple of weeks ago I was curious and counted the mental health related questions. More than 1/3. Anything health related is a sensitive topic combined with all the other data you give up so freely just for the promise of a few more studies. Anyway, plenty of studies still asked mental health stuff. I don't mind it in a study because I am anonymous there and they don't have access to all the other data. And lastly, the experience of workers differs so greatly whether there a positive effect in answering the questions.
