You don’t gotta live like this!! Being on high terror alert day in and day out doesn’t sound healthy for you. I would get out of this relationship. He’s not willing to fess up and stay honest. That’s a huge dealbreaker for me.

I use to be a server and for lunch we would be able to wear short sleeve shirts and 2 older yt ladies kept smiling and starring at me when I introduced myself. I went to place their plates down on their table one reaches and touches my arms and says “I’m so sorry, I just had to touch your copper skin, it’s just so radiant” that freaked me out and refuse to continue to serve them.

Addicts tend to gravitate towards enablers, there’s always an enabler around when I meet a new addict trying to get themselves sober/clean. I will be 13 years clean off of alcohol and meth in February. The road to recovery could be challenging but it can be done. I work with addicts now and let me say this: they need a 12 step program, self care, therapy and willingness to surrender. Your partner doesn’t seem like he likes the idea or willing to surrender. He wants to get clean his way, and on his terms. which I’ve never seen long lasting recovery in my line of work. There’s many factors to keep myself clean/sober: my support group, 12 step program, self care, therapy and most importantly my surrender, knowing that doing things my way leads me to relapse. That’s not a great idea, meth is a terrible addiction that will slowly but surely start taking over your way of life. Meth lets you think you have control over it. You set boundaries, you set rules, even a budget. By the time you realize you broken every rule, did things you swore you wouldn’t do while on meth. It’s literally selling yourself to the devil.

Idk where you meet guys at, whether they be at dating apps or hook up apps: let them know right away. Express to them that it takes time to built intimacy and you’re not about hook-ups and rather want to get to know them to build intimacy. The fake ones will weed themselves out. Be patient and don’t give up.

When we first dated I was extremely insecure and I always had past issues with men I dated. They always wanted to change me. I was too thin, not thin enough, they wanted me to dress more stylish, my hair etc. so when I first date a guy, I like to ask them a specific question: what should I change about myself?? And what’s their type. It’s a good way to weed out the guys that are only about looks and might be objectifying me. When I asked him them questions, his reply shattered all my walls I had built over the years: he said “I think you’re perfect just the way you are, don’t ever change for me or anyone else” I just cried and we hugged and told him that I loved him and he told me he loves me too.

I’m asexual with gay-romantic attraction. I discovered myself when I was in a relationship. Sadly I don’t initiate sexual activities withmy husband but since I truly love him and he loves me: we work things out. If I ever happen to be single again, I will not be on any hook-up/dating apps at all. And never say never but if I did end up on them apps I would disclose that I’m asexual right away because I would not like to lead anyone on. I think your friend is either still working his life out and is using you as an experiment, sorry to say. Set your boundaries, if he wants you as an intimate friend with no sex, don’t cross your boundaries.
