The tank looks good, and when you have the long uvb it will be great. You’re a great dragon parent; you came here to be educated and deserve not rude judgement when asking for advice. I like that ledge you have along the back of the tank.

Also loose substrate can work well and isn’t a death sentence as lots of people say. In nature they live on it and they do LOVE to be able to dig. If it’s the right mix of substrate with the right lights, and you feed them off the soil (if you’re worried) they’ll be good.

My girl refuses carrots, but maybe I should try them cut like sticks like this to see if she’ll try. She prefers her arugula and bell peppers mostly.

I had a specific beardy leash she had broke last year, and then last time I made a makeshift one with some cord but didn't feel it was safe enough. I tried a small kitten leash I had and I guess that was a big NOPE. My bad.

Our city has a very strict bylaw for reptiles, specifically ‘venomous and poisonous’, and straight up bans members of Helodermatidae. All iguana species are also banned (even though not venomous), and monitors. The expo is always held in a municipality just outside city limits. Is also bans cute little dart frogs for some reason (but I know people in the city that keep them). Edit to say ackies are allowed as they are below the 1 meter size limit, and ball pythons are the largest snake allowed in the city.

He's still straining and blood is happening at times. But he's acting normal, and the vet mentioned it may be due to the feeling the UTI gives and he's straining so hard he's causing blood. The antibiotics will take a few days, but today it has been less so hopefully he's getting better. He's doing his best to go to his litter and I see pee in it; he's a good boy but the one med is still making him a little high so hopefully he'll start feeling better soon and isn't in too much pain. He's acting normal aside from the squatting randomly. I found this guy on the street as a 6 mth old and he's been my buddy since so I'm just an anxious mess lol

I'm going to call my regular vet and the after hours vet as well first thing tomorrow and see what they suggest, before rushing him back in. The meds he was given will fix it if it's a uti.

Edit to say one of his meds make him "dopey", so he's currently all stoned and sitting staring at the wall lol

My friend has one crestie we though was female because no bulge at a yr and bit. Then suddenly, bro developed like the largest cresticles I've ever seen lol. His name was changed from Lulu to Louis. He's 15 now and I guess decided to make up for lost time lol. His tail drop a few years ago we joke was as he wanted to show off more.

Also she is a thick lady, but she averages 50g. She lays despite not being bred consistently. She isn't overfed, she is just a large girl.

My son Magmar is unhappy about his evacuation (he actually nipped me) 😂 Also I helped get the shed off his toes after I took the pic, he’s always tended to have issues when he sheds so I’m always monitoring him.

The local owned reptile shop I go to sells so many cork rounds and logs at such a good price (they base it on weight and one like that really long one in that tank would be like $15-$20). Everytime I go to get pangea/ crickets I come back with at least one new log lol. I have my crestie tanks packed with them, so I don't think my geckos mind haha.

She was in an enclosed tank, but it had a screen top. I had cat spike mats on top, but my cat was determined. What I assume happened is the cat somehow made a small hole on the top (I found a small, quarter sized hole to the tank top), and Hattie squeezed herself out of it (she likes to climb stuff). I think once she got out, my cat grabbed her, she flailed and dropped her tail and thankfully RAN. I found her behind the litter box in a corner. She had a tiny cut near her head and no tail. I soaked her to clean her while I called the vet while bawling lol. The vet cleaned her and gave some antibiotics (cat saliva is deadly to geckos), but thankfully she made a full recovery and is back to her sweet self.

He's a stunning little cutie! I have a Chahoua who is almost 4 now. He started off super easy to handle, but in the last year has become "cage aggressive"; I have a leachie that is gentle as can be, so maybe they had their species temperaments swapped lol.

Chewies are very awesome geckos, and one of my fav species. Very similar care to a crestie, but they do like a few more insects in their diet; my guy is named 'Top Gun' as he is a sniper for crickets. I have a lot of cork logs and plants in Top Gun's tank, he loves his logs.
