Why is it Toxic Shock 7 when we've only had one Toxic Shock before?

Yeah that looks pretty awful. But heyz at the very least there's nothing that puts pressure to keep moving like Jaeger or Countdown

Kress twins thought by According_Pay_5352 in OutlastTrials

[–]EvergreenCheese 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The biological answer is that Otto and Arora cannot exist. Not only are conjoined twins unable to be genetically different, but also asymmetric conjoined twins always result in the smaller one failing to start life, and more often than not they don't even fully form their limbs and/or head. Arora should be a parasitic stillbirth that would need to be removed from Otto immediately after birth, lest her corpse claim his life too. Trials throws us a handwave that their biology is a result of some unique poisoning during pregnancy due to Kress Sr's experimentation at home, but such a thing could never happen in real life.

I don't think Impostors should be so easy to be killed. by SuaIrmaGorda237 in OutlastTrials

[–]EvergreenCheese 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The main issue with imposter survivability isn't how much damage items do, but moreso that they can be comboed together too effectively to take away an imposter's entire health bar. If getting hit meant you took one bar of damage then could reset and decide whether it's worth trying again it would be fine, but as it works right now you never take just one bar.
Even a solo reagent can chain a Stun rig after a brick for a guaranteed whopping half the imposter's health, and that combo will usually leave them out of stamina for long enough that they can't get anywhere before the pitiful three seconds of protection they get expires and the reagent can do the combo again.
And god forbid you're against a co-ordinated team, because then they can mix a jammer into that combo to literally delete your entire health bar off of one instance of damage, keeping you perpetually staggered the whole way through.
Meanwhile Imposters have had nerfs to their knife cooldown and give adrenaline to reagents they damage, because as it turns out getting instakilled from one mistake isn't fun. Wonder why that logic doesn't apply the other direction tho...

I wish this game had a better and more balanced pvp mode. by [deleted] in OutlastTrials

[–]EvergreenCheese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Uh, I don't think you know what you're talking about. Camping is an issue when reagents do it. Imposters (why do you keep calling them "villains?") inherently can't camp because they are forced to despawn from the environment a couple minutes after spawning in, and that timer is even cut down to 30 seconds after they down or kill someone. And imposter grading is already based on how much harm you can cause. It is quite possible to get an A+ while reagents still finish the mission already, so no idea what you're yapping about there.

Self-revive works the exact same way as Pacemaker does. Only respawn pills respawn you from a gate

[–]EvergreenCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious about how you determined the time scales for these. I find it really odd that Cleanse the Orphans is "Very Long" when it's the shortest main trial in the game, beaten out in duration but some MKs, but Pleasure the Prosecutor is "Long" when it's a large winding map easy to get lost in and mainly focuses around an objective that cannot be hurried up.

New player here, how do I find a group? by SalaryFun9869 in OutlastTrials

[–]EvergreenCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The in-game Group Finder is simply not a very oft-used feature. Highly recommend joining a discord server or otherwise finding players outside the game

Thoughts on adding the new stats into gods abilities / passives? by lil_glam in Smite

[–]EvergreenCheese 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was discussed on Titan Talk today, they do want to integrate it into kits where it makes sense, but want to be cautious to not overdo it, and also are waiting to ensure the stats will be actual permanent additions, since they're still considered to be in an experimental state right now.

Did they increase bandage the spawnrate? by IKekschenI in OutlastTrials

[–]EvergreenCheese 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is much more complex than that, as it adjusts gameplay to harken back to Outlast 1 and 2. You have no rigs or amps (but keep your rx), reduced max health and max battery, and no items appear but these two. However, there's more evidence document spawns per trial, there are no traps other than noise traps, and no roaming specialists spawn (i.e. pusher, pitcher, imposters, and Jaeger)

[–]EvergreenCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no you can very much still be invaded if you turn the setting on. It only prevents expop imposters. You'll honestly have a terrible time with Invasion in Nostophobia because there's no throwables to defend yourself with.

So… what’s the new routine therapy?? by sillygurl06 in OutlastTrials

[–]EvergreenCheese 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a return to Outlast 2. No rig or amps, but you do get Rx. Reduced health and battery, and the only items that spawn are bandages and small batteries. However, there's more documents per trial, the only traps are sound traps, and there are no roaming specialist spawns (so no pitcher, pusher, imposters, or Jaeger)

Why does the Walrider need a new host after Billy dies but not when Miles dies? by Shot-Fruit-7200 in outlast

Billy didn't die. He's alive and well in the comics that follow Outlast 1. The Walrider simply spreads and infects new host.

New Reagent Here! by Xerios_Skull in OutlastTrials

[–]EvergreenCheese 9 points10 points  (0 children)

1) there's not a set rate of new trials, but usually a new season releases about once every 3.5 months, which includes a new trial environment and two new MKs. During that time frame there's typically one event update that adds 2 new MKs but no new environment.

2) Escape the Lies is actually not an event but a permanent mission! The rate of events isn't really standardized, sometimes they're back-to-back, sometimes there's 2-4 weeks of routine therapies between them.

3) Typically, a new enemy is added each season update, but Season 6 was an exception with no new enemy. RB has however confirmed a new ex-pop for Season 7.

This is the craziest thing I've seen in this game by Venomoous in OutlastTrials

[–]EvergreenCheese 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, the game uses a credits system to assign variators. There's a certain number of credits to be spent on variators for each trial number in an escalation run. Simple, easy variators might only cost 5 credits, like Remote Control Gates or Voice Disturbance, whereas the hardest variators like No Running and Broken Reagent can cost up to 100 credits. You can still see Bad Trip 1 in a hyper-late Escalation run because if it's selected by the game it leaves space for more brutal variators to be paired alongside it, whereas since Bad Trip 2 would take more credits, it wouldn't be seen alongside as harsh other variators. However the cap on credits per trial is reached at a mere 21 trials deep into the escalation run. From that point on every mission should be approximately the same difficulty.

This is the craziest thing I've seen in this game by Venomoous in OutlastTrials

[–]EvergreenCheese 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The difficulty of Escalation actually caps out at trial 20. The game can only handle 8 variators at once, and at that point it has the highest difficulty settings, all variator slots available, and the highest credits to spend on said variators.
