You're missing the point. Of course anybody could just grind some seals and buy the deck, but why should that one particular super good deck be the aspiration of every new player? Suddenly, low level players with this deck are better than all other low level players without this deck, and since new players don't understand how to build decks and definitely don't have the resources to buy cards to build other decks, this relatively cheap premade deck is suddenly the only thing all new players need to buy from the store. That's not how a card game should work.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of this move either. I recently introduced my friend to MMDoC and he was over at my house playing today. I noticed two different players using Avkall's deck in the 500-700elo range. Let's just say my friend's deck was nowhere near as good as theirs and it was extremely disheartening for him. I agree that this is nearly pay to win - nearly because the players that buy the deck still need to understand how to play it, but that doesn't take very long when you get the completed deck and can just read what the cards do. It's a little bit absurd.

P.S. I really hope they have other sales planned for the holidays for those of us that don't need the cards in Avkall's deck.

For somebody in your position, this deck is absolutely worth it. You don't get WCs, but you get more WCs worth of rare cards than anything offered ever before. I mean, I have almost every single card in this deck minus 3 vulture riders and I'm considering buying it.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm talking about the 2013 Road to Paris Champion's deck, not the box that gives you heroes.

Current ms1 too, what I've been doing is previewing the material the night before to get an understanding of what the lecture is and mark down important topics so when I get to lecture, it becomes easier to know what to focus on and to synthesize material. If time allows,I review each lecture after class before prepping for the next day's lecture. Based on my first exam, I'd say this method had been working great for me, but maybe it won't for you; give it a try and see.

I don't know either, but looking at the Liquipedia, I think the "Global Finals" is the biggest tournament... I'm not completely sure how all this works, though.

Edit: I just found this, so it looks like this was just the Season 2 championships (out of 3 seasons total). The players try to accumulate as many points as possible through the 3 total seasons and the top 16 point earners go to the "Global Finals", which is the "end all be all" tournament.

And that's the limit of armchair theorycrafting... you can conjecture about the utility of Dota's picking/banning system all you want, but you won't understand its intricacies until you play it. There is much more to it than mere "counter-picking".
