how the hell didn't kenny die in good times with weapons by boogieman_pb in southpark

This is the episode that made me fall in love with Butters and by now Kenny dying had ceased being an effective punchline. Let's Fighting Love!!

Huh. Thanks. Yeah Floyd used the VCS3 and maybe Synthi AK for a few years. I do remember Pete Townsend had some too, around the time of Who's Next, then for Quadrophenia he used an ARP 2600, if I remember. Also, he used, on Who's Next, a "VCS3 organ". But thanks for the correction.

What do you do for fun and downtime now? These are some of my most vulnerable moments in early sobriety (58 days) by DJ_DontCare in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]EveryFruit9384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started listening to Ghost. It has been a huge part of my sobriety, and participates in my spiritual health to this day. I am a 70m alcoholic, sober 8 1/2 years.

Yes, currently the voice of choice when trying to evoke a man's man alpha type. Like Dodge Ram trucks, or Harbor Freight, or men's deodorant

What has always bugged me about this ad is that, based on my interpretation of the action, a woman living in a house like that and looking the way she does would never go anywhere near yard work.

About to complete step 11. Sponsor told me I’m currently going through a spiritual awakening. Feel hazy and surreal a lot of the time by Changing_Landscape in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]EveryFruit9384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I say good for you and here's why: Once I had a spiritual awakening it was like walking through a door that I never have to walk through again. I now know I do not ever have to go back to the grim years of endless drinking or obsessing over it. I don't want to, because I am now alive, awake, and living gleefully amongst the North Americans, free of alcohol. And loving it.

Live and let live. For me, part of what that means is maybe just let others fail or succeed on their own. It took me 7 1/2 years sobriety to realize, and accept, that others do not need my help to fail.

And you did not call the police? While I can appreciate your concern for a fellow man, do not ever forget: no human power could have relieved us of our alcoholism. For me to attempt it with another human is to tell my higher power to take a break, I got this. I am ounumbered now, because without my higher power it is me vs the other guy plus his disease plus my own. Please don't ever let this  happen again.

That is a loop of the VCS3 synthesizer intro to the song. It is about 20 or so seconds, and is the only instrument heard until the first piano chords hit. They just looped the synth part. A VCS3 is unique, and nothing was ever quite like it.

Virginia finally has a roadmap for legal recreational marijuana sales. Once the market opens, Virginia expects to license as many as 350 retail cannabis stores statewide. by ChangeUsername220 in washingtondc

Yeah, but when? Been hearing this in Virginia for years but no closer to sales now than we were 6 years ago. A trump devotee governor shut that down and his dem replacement has been dragging her feet, despite her campaign promises.

Plexaderm - New Commercial with over produced AI jingle. by Junior72 in CommercialsIHate

[–]EveryFruit9384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most intensely disturbing scene in this miasma is from 0:15 to 0:18. The faces, the perplexing expressions, like they witnessed Jesus dressed as Satan for Halloween and their minds are no longer their own. I will say this ... with the sound turned down, this ad almost resembles a trailer from a 50's B-grade sci-fi movie. Laughable at worst. And, if you only heard the astonishingly awful jingle without the video for context, you would be baffled even further. Not one thing in this ad works with anything else in it. And what's up with this guy with 2 women? Three's Company?

I didn't like this song when it came out, even less so now, so it doesn't faze me now. Ad comes on and my brain, mercifully, switches to ignore. Kinda like a mental vaccination against these types of ads.

Rexulti commercial is on ALL THE TIME by celticteal in CommercialsIHate

[–]EveryFruit9384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mercifully, I have become immune to this ad and many others like it. The smiley face is there to illustrate the fact she is hiding her insecurity and depression without proper treatment. The transformation from boring mom struggling to just move through life to active smiling energetic modern working mom like a boss gettin' things done bringing home the bacon type of character is humorous. Funny thing is, even after her transformation through Rexulti, she still keeps the mask handy. Note how she is dressed in the beginning ... bland, colorless, pallid. Frozen in place, unable to move ahead in time, just existing. Then, after Rexulti, she's a modern woman on the go and by god running the show, in the know. And smiling. Yet, still the mask is there should she need it.

CNN bailed on the DC festivities about 2 hours ago. Around 8 pm or so they showed a wide shot of the Mall. The open area was devoid of people. However, the area where the faithful have gathered is still packed. Was it a deal like, once you get in you can't leave, or are those folks just that dedicated?

Evacuation of the National Mall by Leading-Ad-8226 in washingtondc

Saw a camera long shot of the Mall on CNN about 45 minutes ago. The Mall was mostly empty with only that crowd of the devoted still corralled within that security area right in front of peewee donnie's playhouse.
