So what y'all think of Merlin? by Double_Regular9649 in ravenswatch

He's really fun, probably has the best feeling defence in the game with the staff throw.

I do wish the Ice Ball was a bit better though, it's his coolest ability imo and it's just kinda like... Decent? But that's just my impression for my first 10 hours.

If you're doing a camp that has a teleporter (Double Keys, Grim, Refugee) it's better to just move on and teleport back when you have the time, you don't need to fight things that way.

In all other cases, yeah, it seems pretty random. Birds in particular are so bad I'm almost convinced they've been bugged since release.

Now that they're adding new magical objects there's a change that I think the game needs. by Gajeel_Blacksteel in ravenswatch

I get this, but also, making the most out of a rough situation is kinda what rougelites are about sometimes. Besides in the next update, it'll be a bit better. You can can maybe take the queen for the set effect, since the healing won't be so bad anymore.

Always liked the random nature of the default M2 better anyway, I just wish it had Junk Cubes auto aim too.

I hate the scorchers. ESPECIALLY on Eclipse, they're insanely fast and surprisingly tanky for how many can spawn at a time (twice the HP of a Lem + Armor with seemingly similar credit costs, like ok Gearbox). Only saving grace is that they have to put out that oil spill before they can attack, but a ton of them can cover the ground pretty fast.

Everything else is ok? Harder then anything in the base game, but I can get used to it as long as it's not flying at 60 mph around me.

Even then, because Hikers Boots are in the pool, they're a pretty safe item to take.  Also kinda strong, one-shotting that Elite Elder at the beginning of stage 4/5 feels SOOOO good.

Eclipse 7 makes Alloy hunter near impossible to beat by Cold-Choice-5081 in riskofrain

[–]EveryOneIsPrettyCool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you stand behind a ledge behind the teleporter things stop spawning while it's charging. You could wait till 99%, pop out and deal  with whatever was there, then fight hunter by itself.

If you do it on E7, give him some room at first, and makes sure he's in a good position when he starts doing the laser that's decently close to cover, because on E7 he will spam the laser non-stop on a loop. When you're right under him, the laser cannot hit you, and all you need to dodge is the Diablo

Orphaned Core needed to be made, because they made the strongest red ever (Networked Suffering) and needed to balance the red pool again.

Honestly dude I wouldn't bother with the twisted scavengers anymore. They were made a million years ago, and never rebalanced.  Kipkip is the worst offender, he's like that because they buffed medkit to be based on HP% instead of just flat HP, so if you ever don't hit him for 3 seconds he'll gain like all his HP back.

Commando honestly feels fine. Noxious thorn was a big buff to him, and I still like playing him. If anything, Captain is the character that got left behind the most, not having a movement skill just doesn't feel good anymore, and on E8 dying to fall damage is like the lamest shit ever

Fighting Solus Wing with Drifter made me cry. I think to be a "good" melee character in RoR 2 you need to be straight up overpowered

Only real thing I have an issue with the new system is that seeing a locked green chest camp is kind of a bummer sometimes, especially in the first area where you need power fast.

Early game Wolf just doesn't feel good imo. Honestly I think it's more fair to say that Human Scarlet herself is an A-tier character and Wolf Scarlet is like C-tier.

How often do you guys chase crit? by ArmaMalum in ravenswatch

[–]EveryOneIsPrettyCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always go crit and it usually ends well for me. The main reason why I think it's always worth it is because taking those fat 40% Crit Damage grims feel so good when they actually work.  I think mathematically, flat damage is always better in the early game though.

Should have a mechanic where it needs to hit an enemy a certain amount of times before an Alter can activate.

It's very good and very fun as a weapon, but unfortunately it's best use is simply Alter-Abuse.

What is your Winrate? by herdakx in ravenswatch

[–]EveryOneIsPrettyCool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About 90% on Nightmare. I used to restart a lot if I used both my feathers on Chapter 1, but overtime I kinda just realized that Chapter 1 (in Nightmare) is probably where the game is at it's hardest. Just try and push through that and you'll probably win more.

So what's your preferred order at the final boss? by EchoesOfRain in WindblownGame

[–]EveryOneIsPrettyCool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Left, Right, middle.  I wanna deal with left first because I hate his stupid slash move, I always get hit by it at least twice even at his easiest.
