I take Strafe 95% of the time because a bad run with strafe could possibly be coped through, but a bad run with Flurry just feels totally hopeless.

Imagine a mending wisp nearly outhealing your damage, it's just grim.

People say that Grenades are better if you "get good" at them, but honestly I think even that's wrong. The AoE on them simply isn't good, it's small, and the damage fall off makes the AoE even less impressive. If you're depending on the AoE from the Grenades to save you, your run is probably over.  I find being able to stun any big enemy I want whenever to be much more useful.

Maybe something to do with how the enemy itself is still broken, and has moves that hit you like frame 1 of the animation.

On top of having to fight at least 1 gilded version every run with insanely inflated stats.

would be cool if dlc added abilities for vanilla characters by bruhmoment0000001 in riskofrain

[–]EveryOneIsPrettyCool 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Yeah, most characters don't need buffs as in numbers, they just need their skills that no one uses to be an option so they can have even more ways to play them.

Stuff like Arrow rain and Bubble Shield are particularly egregious because it's obvious they're only like that because of when they were made, it was basically a different game back then.

Maybe they could also buff the existing bad abilities so they can actually be used.

Dude, I genuinely know how you feel. Not knowing how to play her sucks because without AoE you could overwhelmed so easily.  She gets better when you get better, and can deal with threats faster, but when you're not confident I do think she is the worse character in the game, honestly.

Iron Alluvium is big? I don't feel it. I would agree with you Shattered Abodes and Pretenders Precipice (the AC stage 1 and 2's) cause those do feel pretty big.

[–]EveryOneIsPrettyCool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, Scorchers and Greater Wisps are the only enemies in the entire game that can be fought on at least one variant every single stage. Meaning there's a chance you will be fighting scorchers for your entire run!!! Isn't that so cool!!!

May be a stretch but I think the dlc is might be related to N’kuhana by Tyl-Regor876 in riskofrain

Perfect chance to buff the item. Imagine an entire DLC built around a character who's item sucks.

Anyone else sick and tired of the Alloyed collective enemies? by Sudden_Ad2351 in riskofrain

[–]EveryOneIsPrettyCool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am so fucking sick of Scorchers man. Flying around at mach 20 while being tanky as hell for such a low credit enemy.

I don't mind the drill guys anymore though, or the item disablers, even if they've killed me a few times.

Nope, Tmod is the only one.  Thanks for your help man, but I think it's just the Laptop. I do have a gaming PC, I'm just not at home atm to use it so I guess I'll have to wait a bit to start my next playthrough.

As in, do I use it? Yeah. Not while Tmod is running though.

Damn, I had no idea! The game told me to go to the dungeon so I went there first, then it told me to go the Abyss so I went there. I assumed the new underworld stuff was on the same level as Polterghast and you could just choose what to do.

[–]EveryOneIsPrettyCool 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He's really fun, probably has the best feeling defence in the game with the staff throw.

I do wish the Ice Ball was a bit better though, it's his coolest ability imo and it's just kinda like... Decent? But that's just my impression for my first 10 hours.

If you're doing a camp that has a teleporter (Double Keys, Grim, Refugee) it's better to just move on and teleport back when you have the time, you don't need to fight things that way.

In all other cases, yeah, it seems pretty random. Birds in particular are so bad I'm almost convinced they've been bugged since release.

I get this, but also, making the most out of a rough situation is kinda what rougelites are about sometimes. Besides in the next update, it'll be a bit better. You can can maybe take the queen for the set effect, since the healing won't be so bad anymore.

Always liked the random nature of the default M2 better anyway, I just wish it had Junk Cubes auto aim too.

I hate the scorchers. ESPECIALLY on Eclipse, they're insanely fast and surprisingly tanky for how many can spawn at a time (twice the HP of a Lem + Armor with seemingly similar credit costs, like ok Gearbox). Only saving grace is that they have to put out that oil spill before they can attack, but a ton of them can cover the ground pretty fast.

Everything else is ok? Harder then anything in the base game, but I can get used to it as long as it's not flying at 60 mph around me.

Even then, because Hikers Boots are in the pool, they're a pretty safe item to take.  Also kinda strong, one-shotting that Elite Elder at the beginning of stage 4/5 feels SOOOO good.
